Section Events Overview
Quarterly Meeting
The LA Section Quarterly Meeting was held on October 26 at Stevens
Steakhouse in the City of Commerce. The guest speakers were Bruce Blan-
ning, PECG Executive Director, and Robert Lumahan, PECG Corporate
President. The event was attended by 290 members and guests, including
members of the Caltrans District 7 Executive Team.
Diversity Day
Diversity Day was held on October 19 at the Caltrans District 7 Plaza which
included an International Fashion Show, sampling of international foods, and
performances from the international committees. LA Section was one of the
event sponsors and our officers presented awards to the Caltrans District 7
executives and committee chairs for supporting the event.
FLL Robotics Competition
The Widgets Robotics Team from Richardson Middle School placed 1st in
Robot Design and 1st in Robot Performance at the Qualifying Tournament
on November 5. The PECG-sponsored team will be advancing to the
Regional Championships at La Canada H.S. on December 10.
Political Action Outreach
LA Section officers and delegates attended political events for Josh New-
man, Tony Mendoza, Sharon Quirk-Silva and Grace Napolitano.

da Bergquist, and Hamid Khorram at-
tended the Sharon Quirk-Silva, As-
semblywoman District 65, Fund Raiser
at Antonello’s restaurant in Irvine on
October 4. Betty Yee, State Control-
ler, was also in attendance.
