Herb J. Halley was named a Purdue Distinguished Pharmacy Alumnus for working
with Purdue to create one of the nation’s first non-traditional PharmD degree
programs, developing many advanced clinical pharmacy services, and building
pharmacy student experiential rotations as well as a PGY1 residency.
He currently serves as IPA Treasurer and is a past president of the Indiana
Society of Health System Pharmacists. Herb recently retired from the Manchester
College of Pharmacy as a member of their leadership team which built their
program and achieved ACPE accreditation. As Director of Experiential Programs, he worked with
practitioners to initiate over 1,000 months of APPE and IPPE rotations. Herb is an active member of St.
Charles Catholic Church, serves people in need by being a caseworker for St. Vincent de Paul Society,
and through the Knights of Columbus. Herb and his wife, Marge, were high school sweethearts, married
during college, have two sons (both pharmacists), three daughters (nurse practitioner, occupational
therapist, veterinary nurse), outstanding son and daughter-in-laws, and 19 grandkids.

patients absorb drugs and nutrients. This is a growing patient
population, but there is very little guidance on treating these
patients after surgery. Healthcare providers need to be aware of

Description: Drug shortages of essential drugs are becoming
increasingly prevalent and are considered a public health crisis
across the globe, significantly impacting how we access and
manage care. The implications of drug shortages are felt across
the board, affecting all elements of health systems and facilities
as well as patients and their families. Shortages have
significantly increased, impacted care, and become a public
health crisis. By attending the session, the audience will be
better equipped to manage drug shortages, create initiatives
and/or safeguards that target the most pressing issues around
drug shortages at their institution and decrease the impact that
drug shortages have on patient care.

Associations (NASPA) and the Nonprescription Medicines
Academy (NMA). The event, which is endowed by P&G,
promotes active learning of self-care topics to the participants as
well as the audience.

HOW TO OBTAIN CPE CREDIT
Thank you for attending the 2019 Annual Convention & Expo. We hope that you enjoyed it and
found the material valuable to your practice.
In order to obtain CPE credit, you must register with Lecture Panda. You should have received
a link to register in your email, otherwise registration can be accessed via the QR code shown
below.
When registering, it will prompt you to select your registration type (pharmacist or technician).
Then you can fill in the appropriate information ACPE requires to claim CE credit – name,
email, date of birth, and NABP number.
Lecture Panda will then send you an email with a link to complete your CE. The prompts will
take you through several pages, including the option to download available presentation
materials, verifying NABP information, and claiming credit. Select the presentations you
attended and complete any required surveys/quizzes and then you may submit.
This information is automatically sent to CPE Monitor and requires no further action.

The Pharmacy Education Foundation (PEF) is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, a provider of
continuing pharmacy education. Activity Type: all activities at this
convention are knowledge-based activities. Please contact IPA at
(317) 634-4968 if you have questions regarding CPE credit. To
receive credit, participants must complete the sign-in sheet, attend
each activity in its entirety, and complete the requirements on Lecture
Panda within 2 weeks following the activity. Statements of credit will
be posted to the online NABP/ACPE CPE Monitor within four (4)
weeks after the activity.
