GAME TWO STARTING PITCHER: #35 Jed Bradley (3-1, 3.42 ERA) 6th appearance, 6th start

LAST START: Was saddled with a no-decision after another stellar effort in a walk-off 2-1 loss to the Daytona Cubs last Sunday…Bradley turned in another strong performance, allowing just three hits and one run over five innings of work…The left-hander walked a season-high three batters, but struck out a career-high nine…The lone run surrendered came on a RBI single by Jeimer Candelario in the fourth inning…The Cubs won the game in the bottom of the ninth off reliever Tommy Toledo as Willson Contreras drove in the winning run with a two out single to center…The Manatees lone run came on a sacrifice fly by Nathan Orf in the fifth…Brevard left ten runners on base in the loss. SCOUTING REPORT: Ranked #18 in the Brewers organization by Baseball America …The highest ranked left-handed pitcher on the list…Throws an 89-93 mph fastball with good movement…Also throws a mid-80’s slider...Creates deception with his low-80’s changeup…Uses it at any point in the count…Injuries and mechanical issues have slowed his progress.

FANTASTIC FOUR: Bradley is in the midst of his best stretch of his professional career…Over his last four outings the left-hander has gone 3-0 with a 1.22 ERA…Bradley has surrendered three runs in those starts, however, he has allowed no more than one run in each of those outings…As well, the lefty has yielded a career-low 14 hits while striking out a career-high 25 batters for four straight outings.

YANKEES STARTING PITCHER: #39 Rafael De Paula (1-1, 2.96 ERA) 6th appearance, 6th start

LAST START: Did not factor into the decision in a 4-3 Tampa victory against the Lakeland Flying Tigers last Sunday…De Paula surrendered three runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out a season-high eight batters…All three runs allowed came off the bat of Connor Harrell, a two-run home run in the fourth and a RBI triple in the fifth…The Yankees rallied to take the lead in the sixth on RBI singles by Jake Cave and Major League rehabber Brendan Ryan…The bullpen was stellar in relief of De Paula, allowing no runs on three hits over the game’s final four frames en route to the victory.

SCOUTING REPORT: The 15th best prospect in the Yankees organization according to Baseball America…Fastball regularly reaches the mid-to-upper 90s with hard, late sink…Also has a slider and changeup, which he uses less frequently…Gets out of sync easily making it hard for him to throw his secondary pitches for strikes…Evaluators believe he’s hesitant to use his breaking and off-speed pitches and instead try to blow his fastball past hitters…Can be a quality reliever with development of those off-speed pitches…Requires significant improvement to project as a starter long term.

CAREER NOTES: Signed by the Yankees as a minor league free agent on 11/18/10…Signed out of La Victoria, D.R.…Pitched for the DSL Yankees in 2012 before making his U.S. debut with Class-A Charleston in 2013…Combined to go 7-5 with a 4.29 ERA in 24 games (23 starts) between Charleston and High-A Tampa…Led all Yankees affiliates in strikeouts (146) in 113.1 innings…Went 5-0 with a 1.69 ERA in six May starts…Named a midseason South Atlantic League All-Star…Transferred to Tampa on 6/17…Named to the World Team for the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game.
