On the letters that were sent out on Thursday, May 18, I handwrote if you received any financial aid. Some aid is from the school (you would receive an email from FACTS about this information), some aid is from the Parish (you will receive a letter about this), and some aid is from the Archdiocese of Baltimore (you will receive an email about this). We apologize that we could not give money to everyone that requested financial aid. Mrs. Frazier will adjust your FACTS account with these amounts once you have set up your tuition payment plan for next year. Sincerely, Sue Wenzlick

BOOST IS BACK FOR THE 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR

BOOST WEBSITE: http://www.marylandpublicschools.org/pages/boost/index.aspx Dear SPN Families, BOOST is now accepting applications! Please copy the link above in your URL web browser to get to the BOOST website. On the right side of the screen it will have BOOST 2017-2018 Applications in both English and Spanish. APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 15. Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today (BOOST) Program The Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today (BOOST) Program provides scholarships for some students who are eligible for the free or reduced–price lunch program to attend eligible nonpublic schools. Awards are granted based on household income, with the lowest income served first. You will need a letter from me stating that your child is enrolled at our school. Please shoot me an email, and I will generate the letter in PDF format. Mrs. Sue Wenzlick [email protected]

Please go to the link below and enter your email and your password. https://stphilip-neri.schooladminonline.com/users/sign_in

Make your checklist 100% complete!

BOOK AND TECHNOLOGY FEE Mrs. Frazier will be going into FACTS and adjusting everyone's payment plan to pull the $250/child book and technology fee to the August payment. With the new admissions software it automatically put this payment with the first tuition payment. That is not how we have done things in the past nor how I explained it to new parents this year. So for this year it will come out in August. For 2018-2019 school year, we will be collecting this payment with the first tuition payment. I apologize for any confusion! Sue Wenzlick

I would recommend signing up for BOOST even if you think your income is slightly over the guidelines.

There is no fee to apply for BOOST.

OPERATION MATO GRASSO

Message from our Lenten Social Outreach Program Director, Matteo Santi Amantini: Dear Students and Staff of Saint Philip Neri School, I want to let you know that our Food Drive for the poor in Peru was very successful. We have collected 35,000 pounds of food and over $8,000 of monetary donations in just 40 days. Not only did your school collect food, but also Monsignor Slade and five parishes-Christ the King, Saint Gabriel, Saint Clement, Saint Philip Neri and Our Lady of Pompei. Both the amount of food and the number of parishes and schools collecting food is more than I would have ever dreamt possible in our first year. Our two small but growing work groups of teenage volunteers of Operation Mato Grosso and I, cannot find the way to thank you enough for all your support. I still can't believe it. We filled/stuffed one container as much as we possibly could and it will arrive in Peru in about 20 days. The food will be used in our programs – in our schools, where we provide free meals to the students, in our parishes’ soup kitchens where we feed elderly people or people who simply are not able to provide for themselves. We also feed patients in our hospitals, clinics, orphanages and more. I hope this will be the first of many other containers from the United States. Sincerely, Matteo

ST PHILIP NERI SCHOOL and HOPE FOR ALL

working together to help those in need!

Collecting Cleaning Supplies and Toiletries

May 1 - 24, 2017

HOPE For All exists as a Christian ministry to assist God’s people without sufficient resources to provide for their own basic needs. Mr. Leo Zerhusen, founder of HOPE For All and former teacher at St. Philip Neri, and his wife Diane founded this charity in 2004. During more than 40 combined years of teaching experience, they saw how children lacking basic needs were at a disadvantage for finding a promising future. That awareness combined with a strong faith and years of Christian service resulted in their decision to establish HOPE For All.
