Shirdi Sai Baba bestowed His Kindness, Mercy, Protection

and Grace on childless-couples!During Sai Baba’s lifetime, the

devotees around Him did not approach Baba as a teacher, or as one with a philosophy too profound. He was so powerful that the very experience of being in His presence was itself the teaching. The moment they went to Him they saw the power, they were aware of their helplessness, they sought help and they got it. By getting the help they also got the message - the message which some other perfect masters taught verbally. So every leela, every incident, every miracle that we see in Baba’s life, every experience that we read, conveys a message. Nobody felt any lack that Baba did not teach, because they were so fulfilled.

Teaching is needed to get that experience of fulfillment, to get rid of our helplessness. When that is spontaneously achieved in Baba’s presence, there is no need of any other thing.

Shirdi Sai Baba bestowed His Kindness, Mercy, Protection and Grace on childless-couples!

We find numerous such cases in Shri Sai Satcharita, mentioned below :-

Nanded is a city in Maharashtra State, India. There lived a Parsi mill-contractor and trader in Nanded. His name was Ruttonji Shapurji Wadia. (Shri Sai Satcharita, Chapter 14)

He had amassed a large amount of money and had acquired fields and lands. He had got cattle, horses and conveyances and was very prosperous. Outwardly, he looked very happy and contented, but inwardly, he was not so. Providential dispensation is such, that no one in this world is completely happy and contented; Ruttonji was no exception to this. He was liberal and charitable, gave food and clothing to the poor and helped all in various ways. The people took him to be a good and happy man, but Ruttonji thought himself miserable as he had no child. Ruttonji always brooded on this matter and often murmured to himself, “Would God be ever pleased to grant me a son?” He constantly remained victim of depression and anxiety that started keeping him in a state of low mood and aversion to activity. He ceased to relish even his food. Day and night, he was enveloped with worry whether he would ever be blessed with a son. He had a great regard for Dasganu Maharaj. One day he opened his heart before him. Dasganu advised him to go to Shirdi, take Sai Baba’s

darshan, fall at His Feet and seek His blessing and pray for child. The idea suited to Ruttonji. After some days he went to Shirdi, took Baba’s darshan and fell at His Feet. Then, he placed a beautiful garland of flowers around Baba’s neck and offered Him a basket of fruits. With great respect, he then sat near Baba, and prayed to Him saying, “Many persons who find themselves in difficult situations come to You, and You relieve them immediately. Hearing this, I have sought anxiously Your Feet; please, therefore, do not disappoint me.” Sai Baba then asked him for dakshina of Rs. 5=00 which Ruttonji immediately offered; but Baba added, that He had already received Rs. 3-14-0 from him, and that he should pay the balance only. Hearing this, Ruttonji was rather baffled. He could not make out what Baba meant. That was the first time, he thought, that he came to Shirdi and how was it that Baba said that He had formerly got Rs. 3-14-0 from him? He could not solve the mystery. But, he sat at Baba’s Feet and gave the balance of the dakshina asked for. He then explained to Baba fully, as to why

he came and sought His help, and prayed that Baba should bless him with a son. Baba was moved and told him not to be worried, and that that time his bad days were over. He then gave him udi, placed His hand on his head and blessed him saying that Allah (God) would satisfy his heart’s desire.

Then after taking Baba’s leave, Ruttonji returned to Nanded and told Dasganu everything that took place at Shirdi, He said that everything went on well there, that he got Baba’s darshan and blessing with prasad, but there was one thing which he could not understand. Baba said to him that he had got Rs. 3-14-0 before. Please explain as to what Baba meant by this remark. He said to Dasganu, “I never went to Shirdi before, and how could I give Him the sum which Baba referred to?” To Dasganu also, it was a poser, and he pondered much over it for a long time. Sometime afterwards it struck him that Ruttonji had received some days ago a Mahomedan saint, by the name Moulisaheb, in his house and had spent some money for his reception. This Moulisaheb was the coolie-saint who was highly revered by the people of Nanded. When Ruttonji decided to go to Shirdi, this Moulisaheb accidentally came to Ruttonji’s house. Ruttonji knew him and loved him. So he gave a small party in his honour. Dasganu got from Ruttonji the expenditure incurred in arranging this reception, and everybody was wonderstruck to see, that the expenses amounted to exactly Rs. 3-14-0, nothing more, nothing less. They all came to know, that Baba was Omniscient. Though He lived in Shirdi, He knew what happened outside far away from Shirdi. In fact He knew the past, present and future, and could identify Himself heart and soul with anybody. In this particular instance how He could know the reception given to Moulisaheb, and the amount spent on the reception, unless He could identify Himself with him, and be One with him.

Ruttonji was satisfied with this

explanation and his faith in Baba was confirmed and increased. In due time afterwards, he was blessed with a son and his joy knew no bounds. It is said that he had in all 12 issues out of which only four survived. Thus,

Shirdi Sai Baba bestowed His Kindness, Mercy, Protection and Grace on childless-couples!

Sakharam Aurangabadkar was a resident of Solapur. A long period of 27 years had elapsed, but his wife had borne him no children. Mrs. Aurangabadkar had focused her prayers on a number of Gods and Goddesses for an issue, but was not successful. She then gave up almost all hope. With the idea of making a last - ditch attempt in this matter, she came to Shirdi

with her step-son Vishwanath and stayed there for two months. And she started loving Sai with all her heart, all her soul and all her strength. Whenever she went to the Dwarkamai Masjid, she found it jam-packed with devotees who gathered from different parts of the country. She was eager to meet Baba alone, fall at His Feet and open her heart, and pray for an issue, but she got no suitable opportunity. Ultimately she requested Shama to plead with Baba for her when He was alone. Shama said to her that Baba’s darbar was open, still he would try for her and that the Lord might bless her. He asked her to sit ready with a coconut and joss sticks on the open courtyard at the time of Baba’s meals and that when he beckoned to her, she should come up. One day after dinner, when Baba went up and took His seat, Shama signaled to the lady. She came up, bowed, and presented the coconut and joss sticks. Baba shook the coconut which was dry. The kernel within rolled and made a noise. Baba said, “Shama, this is rolling, see what it says.” Shama returned, “The woman prays that a child might be similarly rolling and quickening in the womb. So give her the coconut with Your blessings.”

Baba shot back, “Will the coconut give her any issue? How people are foolish and fancy such things!”

Shama insisted, “I know the strength of Your word and blessing. Your word will give her a string or series of children. You are wrangling and not giving real blessing.”

The parley went on for a while. Baba repeatedly ordering to break the coconut, and Shama pleading for the gift of the unbroken fruit to the lady. Finally, Baba yielded and said, “She will have an issue.” “When?”, asked Shama. “In 12 months”, was the reply. The coconut was then broken into two parts - one part was eaten by Baba and Shama and, the other was given to Mrs. Aurangabadkar.

Then, Shama, turning up to Mrs.

Aurangabadkar, said, “Dear madam, you are a witness to my words. If within 12 months you do not get any issue, I will break a coconut against this Deva’s head, and drive Him out of this Masjid. If I fail in this, I will not call myself Madhav. You will soon realize the significance of my words.”

Mrs. Aurangabadkar delivered a son in one year’s time, and the son was brought to Baba while the infant was still five months old. Both husband and wife prostrated themselves before Baba. (Shri Sai Satcharita, Chapter 36)

Thus, Shirdi Sai Baba bestowed His Kindness, Mercy, Protection and Grace on childless-couples!

Devotees of Sai Baba are well aware that a mention of Damodar Savlaram Rasane (Damu Anna) was made in the 6th Chapter of Shri Sai Satcharita, regarding the celebration of Ram Navami festival in Shirdi. Damu went to Shirdi about the year 1895, when the Ram Navami utsav-celebration began, and from that time he had been providing an ornamental flag for that occasion every year. He also fed the poor and the fakirs that came there for the festival. He was a very humble man and began as a poor bangle seller. All his transactions yielded good profit, and he soon grew rich. He had everything to make life happy. Damu Anna had three wives. But, he had no issue. He consulted many astrologers, and himself studied astrology to some extent, and found that as there was an inauspicious planet in his horoscope, there was no prospect of any issue to him in this life. But, he had great faith in Baba, and left for Shirdi to seek Baba’s blessings for an issue. But, prior to his arrival at Shirdi, a parcel of about 300 good mangoes was received at Shirdi. It was sent from Goa by one mamlatdar named Rale to Sai Baba. When it was opened, all the mangoes were found to be in a good condition. They were distributed amongst devotees, and only

four were retained. Baba said, “These four fruits are for Damu Anna.” As soon as Damu came, Baba gave him those four mangoes, with the instruction, “Do not eat yourself, but give them to your second wife. This Amra-leela (mango miracle of 4 mangoes) will give her four sons and four daughters.” This was done, and ultimately in due course it was found that Baba’s words turned out to be true and not those of the astrologers.

... In a burst of affection, Baba then pinched Madhavrao’s cheek. Listen then to the loving conversation between God and His devotee at that opportune time.

Though Madhavrao was full of humility, he feigned anger and jokingly said to Baba, “Is this behaviour good?

We do not want such a mischievous God Who pinches our cheek with such force! Are we so awed by You? Is this the fruit of intimacy?”

Then Baba replied, “Have I ever touched you in all the seventy-two generations? Do you ever remember such an occasion?”

To which Madhavrao said, “We want such a God Who always gives us wonderful and novel sweets to eat when we are hungry.

We do not want Your respect nor a divine vehicle to attain the heavens. Give me only the boon of having faith at Your Feet.”

Then Baba started to speak - “Yes, indeed, I have come for that and that is why I started giving you food and got fondly attached to you.”

Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi- Translated from Marathi into English by

Vishwarath NayarE-mail : [email protected]

The Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, having started the production of ladoo-prasad following all the rules and guidelines related to COVID-19, have started distributing 1 boondi-ladoo weighing about 50 gms free as prasad to the devout-devotees coming for the darshan in the darshan line after the darshan.

The Sansthan sells boondi-ladoo made in pure ghee and containing raisins, cashew nut, almond as prasad to the devout-devotees coming to the Shri Sai Baba shrine in Shirdi since 1990 on the lines of the Tirupati Devasthan. Similarly, the devout-devotees coming for the darshan of Shri Sai Baba were being distributed 50

gms of loose boondi as prasad, free, in the darshan line from August 15, 2013. The Shri Sai Baba’s Samadhi Mandir was closed for the darshan to the devout-devotees since March 17, 2020, in the wake of the lockdown announced by the government, as a preventive measure due to the corona-virus crisis worldwide, nationwide and in the state. Hence, the sale of paid ladoo-prasad packets and the distribution of free boondi prasad packet in the darshan line, were completely stopped.

On November 14, 2020, as per the state government notification the Samadhi Mandir of Shri Sai Baba was opened for the darshan to the devout-devotees subject to some terms/conditions from November 16, 2020. Similarly, the production of ladoo-

prasad on an experimental basis has been started, following all the rules and guiding directives related to COVID-19. Accordingly, devotees coming for the darshan of Shri Sai Baba’s Samadhi from Saturday, March 6, 2021, are being distributed a packet of 1 boondi-ladoo weighing about 50 gms as prasad after the darshan, instead of a packet of loose boondi packet as prasad. These ladoos, being made very scientifically, devotees should consume it immediately as prasad within 24 hours.

Presently, the boondi-ladoo in the form of prasad distributed free in the darshan line being made in an improved way, devotees wait for it for a prolonged period and was in demand.

Gondkar, Chairman of the Shirdi Municipal Council, Shri Ravindra Thakare, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Sansthan, Shri Babasaheb Ghorpade, Chief Accounts Officer, Dr. Akash Kisave, Administrative Officer, Shri Raghunath Aher, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department, Dr. Pritam Vadgave, In-charge Medical Director of Shri Sai Baba Hospital, Dr. Maithili Pitambare, Superintendent of Shri Sainath Hospital and employees were present in the meeting hall.

In his introductory address at the programme, Shri Kanhuraj Bagate, Chief Executive Officer of the Sansthan stated that in the background of COVID-19, the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi managed Shri Sai Baba Super Speciality Hospital and Shri Sainath Hospital, Shirdi, under their authority as per the government’s directive runs the 1) CCC, 2) DCHC and 3) DCH. The Sansthan has treated about 6,900 people with the above COVID-19 symptoms and asymptomatic patients since March 18, 2020. Having utilized the infrastructure and man-power of the Sansthan for this, people

deriving service from that, succeeded in gaining control over COVID-19. Also, presently since the spread of COVID-19 is on the rise since March, 2021, the Sansthan has been persistently striving to overcome that and provide the much-needed facilities and services.

Currently in the second wave of corona, the shortage of oxygen cylinders for corona patients is being felt on a large scale. For this an Oxygen Generation Project has been erected from the donations of Rs. I,88,80,000/- by Shri Anant Ambani of the Reliance Foundation and Rs. 44,94,000/- by philanthropic Sai devotee, Shri K. V. Ramani, in all amounting to Rs. 2,33,74,000/- and an RT-PCR Lab by the Sansthan at the Shri Saibaba Sansthan’s hospital. Oxygen being produced from air through this project, the plant’s capacity being 1200 LPM (Litres Per Minute), oxygen supply will be made to 300 beds in the Shri Sainath Hospital through that. The said project being environment-friendly, it will be functional 24 hours. Also, testing is the only option to find out if a person has been

infected with corona. If this test result is obtained soon, then it will help in the efforts to curb the increasing spread caused by it. Various tests are available for this. RT-PCR test can reliably detect the corona infection. In this the swab of the individual from the nose and throat is investigated. Hence, the patient’s diagnosis is done quickly and the treatment can be commenced immediately. These two projects will thus provide the benefit of health services on a large scale to patients in Shirdi and the surrounding regions. Also, many people’s lives can be saved too.

The Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray stated on the occasion, “Maharashtra is a land of Saints. The legacy of the Saints of helping has been carried forward by many. In that, the legacy of Shri Sai Baba’s helping hand to the poor and downtrodden has been preserved by the Shri Saibaba Sansthan. This is evident even today from the activities carried out by Shri Kanhuraj Bagate, Chief Executive Officer of the Sansthan. Also, prior to this in the first wave of the corona-virus, Shri Saibaba Sansthan had contributed Rs. 51 crores to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The corona-virus crisis in the State is huge. In this, many individuals coming forward to help, the government too is making

stringent efforts. Patients will get great benefit from the Oxygen Generation Project and the RT-PCR Test Lab set up by the Sansthan. Having confronted the first wave of the corona-virus, the second wave being ongoing, in this a huge shortage of health service is being felt. The government has set up health services on a large scale at such a time, and this work is going on even now. Even after the spread of the corona-virus ends, the corona tests will have to be generally continued for many years.”

Also, the work done by the Sansthan during the corona pandemic being commendable, if other religious places also emulate this work, a massive health service could be erected, stating so the Chief Minister, Shri Uddhav Thackeray thanking the philanthropic Sai devotees who contributed for both the projects, wished them for their good health and further progress.

Deputy Chief Minister of the State, Sri Ajitdada Pawar, Revenue Minister, Shri Balasaheb Thorat, Rural Development Minister and Guardian Minister of Ahmednagar District, Shri Hasan Mushrif and Chief Secretary Shri Sitaram Kunte expressing their thoughts on the occasion thanked the Shri Saibaba Sansthan for the work done during the corona crisis
