DC Sports was founded by Darrell and Derrick Contreras as a high quality designer and manufacturer of performance products to address the developing Sport Compact Market.

In 1987, American Honda commissioned DC Sports to develop a header for their SCCA prepped CRX’s and the result cumulated was our first 4 into 1 header design. It was so well received that Honda requested headers for other applications. That system is the one that started it all (HHC5002)

The Sport Compact Market was primarily based on popular Japanese small cars that were great cars to begin with, but also excellent platforms for various tuning modifications.

Throughout the 1990s, DC Sports was synonymous with Honda and Acura performance and in the early 2000’s started expanding into other sport compact platforms. DC Sports developed unique designs that performed better and therefore became the brand of choice for serious enthusiasts.

DC Sports offers products for most popular sport compact vehicles. Our headers and intakes are available as CARB approved-50 states legal or race only- off road use versions. Headers are manufactured with polished T304SS stainless and/or T409SS ceramic coated for protection and finish. Intake kits come with a high flow open element filter complete with all necessary hardware for a hassle free installation. Braces are manufactured with mild

steel for strength and powder-coated for a quality durable finish and solid one piece designs are used whenever possible to provide the maximum chassis rigidity. All parts are engineered, dyno tested for performance (where applicable), and come with an industry standard one year warranty. DC Sports has always been first and foremost about performance and value but there is also no other product that has the DC Sports look, feel, and quality.

In 2004, DC Sports was purchased by Advanced Engine Management (AEM), a leading manufacturer of performance parts specializing in air induction and electronics for the Sport Compact and Truck/SUV Markets. AEM continued the strong DC Sports tradition of producing the very best exhaust products and developed an even stronger connection to motorsports for the brand.

Pilot Automotive entered the picture in 2007 when it purchased the aftermarket assets and intellectual property of DC Sports from AEM. Pilot is one of the largest accessory and performance product suppliers to the automotive and truck markets. Pilot owns a number of well known brands such as Pilot, Red Line, APC, Bully, and VPS (Vehicle Performance Systems).

HEADER SYSTEMS

DC Sports header systems are dyno tested to outperform all comparable header systems on the market. Extensive research and development goes into each system to ensure the best performance for your vehicle. We precision-bend our headers on our CNC mandrel benders, using data acquired from our non-contact digitizing scanner. Our flanges are CNC machined, we machine-grind the flange mating surface to ensure a leak-free seal and use a robotic welder to attach the flange to the header pipes. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing process ensures superior quality and a perfect fit with every header system we make.

DC Sports headers are available in 100% T-304-stainless steel, and/or in T-409 stainless steel with a proprietary temperature and corrosion-resistant ceramic coating. We thermally degrease and sandblast our headers to prepare the surface for coating adhesion, and hand-paint them to ensure an even application. After verifying the proper thickness of the coating, the header is cured for proper bonding of the ceramic coating and then fine-blasted for a high-luster finish.

DC Sports has three 50-state legal header designs: A race-inspired 4-into-1 design that optimizes mid to top-end power, a lightweight, one-piece 4-2-1 design that provides maximum ground clearance and emphasizes low to mid-range power for street/drag applications, and a two-piece 4-2-1 design for easy installation and unmatched low to mid-range power.

Our “Race-Only” headers come in 4-into-1 and 4-2-1 designs, and our turbo manifolds and competition pipes for O.E.-equipped turbocharged vehicles are 100% stainless steel. Please refer to the application chart for more information on design and material availability. MACHINED FLANGES

What culminated was our first 4-into-1 header design, and it was so well received that Honda requsted headers for other applications. That system (HHC5002) is the one that started it all.

The merge collector in our 4-into-1 systems feature a unique trapezoidal design that is proven to effeciently expedite exhaust gas flow by virtually eliminating turbulence. This design also improves ground clearance by allowing us to offset the top and bottom header piping.

DC Sports 4-2-1 one-piece header systems deliver incredible low- to mid-range power gains, while improving ground clearance and reducing weight by eliminating the middle flanges. Our 4-2-1 one-piece headers are much lighter than stock systems and are on average two-pounds lighter than our two-piece systems.

The increase of V6 applications in the sport compact market provided an opportunity to design V-engine headers, and we responded with our 3-into-1 header designs. You will not find a 3-into-1 header system that fits as perfectly or performs as well as DC Sports’ offerings.

CERAMIC COATING PROCESSDC Sports’ proprietary ceramic coating is the best in the business. Once our systems are complete, they are subjected to a thermal degrease and preliminary sandblast to prep the surface for adhesion. Each system is hand painted and once the proper thickness of the coating is verified, it is cured in ovens and fine-blasted to a high luster finish.

KEY FEATURES

DC Sports Turbo Manifolds are the perfect upgrade

for customers looking to extract the most power from their factory

turbocharged vehicle. Because of the high temperature demands of

turbo applications, we use special manufacturing techniques

to virtually eliminate the chance of failure, including perparing the plasma cut materials for

welding, using a slower weld process and thicker rod for deeper weld penetration and purging the inner tube sections with Argon gas to strengthen the backside of the welds.

DC Sports exhaust systems are CNC Mandrel bent from T304 stainless steel, hand welded, feature a straight-through muffler core, includes solid hangers that utilize the factory mounting locations and includes complete hardware for ease of installation. We made a significant investment in automated exhaust manufacturing equipment that enabled us to reduce the cost of almost all of our exhaust system applications! You will not find a better performing or fitting stainless steel exhaust system for the price.

Due to certain fitment requirements and routing specifications, DC Sports manufactures a single canister, dual tip exhaust system for the Nissan 350Z and other select applications. Like all our engine breathing products, DC Sports exhaust systems are dyno tuned and tested to outperform all comparable systems on the market. Our Single Canister, dual tip systems feature a large, transverse-mounted polished oval canister with dual straight-cut, four-inch tips with rolled DC Sports logos so there is no mistaking whether you have the

best exhaust on the market.

DC SPORTS race-inspired Dual Canister systems are available for V6 and select four-cylinder applications. Our Dual Canister systems
