The Health, Safety and Environmental Innovation Award will recognise an outstanding technology, process or system developed for the offshore oil and gas or renewables industry. The award will recognise:

Developments which have reduced the environmental impact of the industry, and/or; Developments which have improved individual, plant or operational safety.

Technologies must have been developed in the UK, support business/industry sustainability and created new business opportunities as a result. Responses may include previously developed technologies which have been re-developed in the last 12 months to address further industry challenges.

Please note that this award focuses on technology and does not apply to internal company efforts being made to improve environmental footprint, such as reduce, reuse, recycle initiatives, reducing travel and carbon emissions, etc, or initiatives to improve employee health such as healthy eating, cycle to work, etc.

Please do not submit other supporting information - only the answers provided in this form will be judged.

Please describe your innovation in basic terms so that it is clearly understood. Describe briefly what company or industry wide HSE problems or challenges your technology, process or system addresses. Clearly state the technical and commercial objectives that you have set or intend to meet with your product or service. If appropriate, please elaborate what makes your innovation ‘game changing’. Explain briefly how development of the technology, process or system has already addressed the objectives of the oil, gas or renewable industry; and how it is contributing towards meeting the HSE challenges. Provide an outline business case for a customer using the technology, process or system; i.e. what advantage will be gained - technical, competitive, academic, economic, etc. (Maximum 500 words and up to 3 photographs or illustrations)

Briefly describe how you went about developing your innovation (including details of any technology redevelopments which took place). Describe succinctly what work you carried out to achieve your objectives. Briefly identify any barriers, technical and/or commercial hurdles you faced and outline how you overcame them.
