1. GENERAL
Main data and parameters of the cranes are described in the GA drawings L1016 and L1017
The crane is operated from an enclosed control cabin mounted on the slewing house.
Crane is equipped with PLC controlled safety system for the main hook for automaticregulation of the load according to outreach. Load in hook and outreach will be showed ondisplay in cabin. PLC is located inside the crane cabin.
2. CRANE CABIN
Operator’s cabin is designed for tropical conditions and equipped with tinted safety glass.Entrance to the cabin is from the back.
To reduce the noise and vibration the cabin is suspended on rubber vibration dampers, and itis also insulated with 50mm isolation. Max inside noise level inside the cabin is 75 dB(A)
The cabin is equipped with:- Sunshade curtains.- Lighting.- 3 x window wiper with washer system. Washer tank and accessories located inside
cabin- 2pc upper side windows and lower front window- Air condition- Heating- Ergonomic driver seat with arm rests, damping and possibility to rotate chair.- C02 fire extinguisher- Isolation in walls, roof and floor.
- Warning horn- Loudhailer (megaphone)
3. CRANE CONTROL
In the operator’s cabin there are two consoles, left and right. All speeds are controlled step less from 0 to max. The joy sticks are of the self-centering type.There is a crane emergency stop push-button located on the outside of the crane pedestal.
Standard diesel engine controls (locally on the diesel engine) includes:- Key operated start/stop of engine.
- Engine coolant high temperature warning- Lube oil high temperature warning- Speed indication.- Fuel low level warning.- Oil low level warning.
In the engine room there will be a dry chemical powder fire extinguisher system.
The crane is provided with a safe load (rated capacity) indicator local to the driver thatincludes the following parameters:
- Actual load on hook.- Operating radius of hook.- Visual alarm for 90 % load.- Visual alarm for 95 % load.

- Visual /Audible alarm for 110 % load.- Top limit activated- Bottom limit activated- Oil Temperature- Oil level
- AOPS activated- MOPS available / activated- Offshore activated- Tensioning available / activated- Filter clogged.
Two motions can be operated at the same time with full capacities and reduced speed.
4. LOAD LIMITING SYSTEM
Crane provided with electronic load limiting system consisting of PLC, load cell for min hoist,load cell for aux hoist and outreach measurement.
Each hydraulic circuit is provided with equipment for limiting hydraulic pressure to presetvalues corresponding with crane capacity.
5. LIMIT SWITCHES
5.1 Hook travel upThe crane is provided with an automatic hook stop in top and bottom position. Each winchdrum is provided with rotary limit switch for top and bottom position of hook
5.2 Luffing up – downCrane provided with automatic stop in extreme positions based on angle sensors mounted onmain jib hinge. Luffing will also be provided with slow down.
6. DIESEL HYDRAULIC POWER PACK
- The crane is provided with a diesel-hydraulic power pack placed in a sound insulatedcontainer (engine room) mounted as a backpack on the crane house.
- The diesel engine a Catepillar engine, water-cooled by a radiator cooling system and aredundant starting system.
- The exhaust silencer is fitted with a spark arrestor.- The fuel oil tank is dimensioned for running the crane for 12 hours at full load and
includes, filling connection, vent, drain connection, level indication (including low levelalarm), outlet and return connection.
- The hydraulic oil tank is located inside crane house (part of the structure) and providedwith an oil level indicator and a temperature gauge, inspection hatch, drain connection,vent.
- The hydraulic systems include two variable displacement pumps and are of the open looptype.
- The hydraulic oil circuit has a full flow return filter with changeable filter inserts.- Oil cooler is installed.
7. ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY
The crane is fitted with a slip ring inside the pedestal for electrical power supply to the cranefor battery charging, diesel engine and crane controls and lighting.
There is a Main Power Supply with 3 phases (3 ph - 480 VAC - 60 Hz) and a UPS Supply with2 phases (220 VAC - 60 Hz).

8. LIGHTING

9. SLEWING MACHINERY
The connection between crane pedestal and crane is arranged by an anti-friction slewingbearing with internal teething and sealing to prevent entry of water and dust. The slewingbearing is designed for operating at heel/trim as indicated in main data. The slewing gear is ofthe planetary type with multi disk spring loaded, hydraulic pressure released brake. Adjustment of back lash between pinion and gearing on slewing ring is possible, slewing motor
is of the axial piston type.
10. HOISTING MACHINERY
The main and aux winch unit consists of:
- Grooved drum with bearing and brackets- Enclosed winch gear with multi disk spring loaded, hydraulic pressure released brake- Hydraulic variable displacement piston motor with safety valve to «freeze movement in
case of pressure drop»
- Automatic Overload Protection System (AOPS) / Manual Overload Protection System
(MOPS) /Tensioning system.
The wire rope is the non-rotating type and is galvanized.The wire sheaves are provided with heavy duty maintenance free enclosed roller bearing onsteel axles. All bearings have grease nipple lubrication if not maintenance free.

11. LUFFING MACHINERY
The luffing winch unit consists of:- Grooved drum with bearing and brackets- Enclosed winch gear with multi disk spring loaded, hydraulic pressure released brake
- Hydraulic variable displacement piston motor with safety valve to «freeze movementin case of pressure drop»
The wire rope is the rotation resistant and is galvanized.The wire sheaves are provided with heavy duty maintenance free enclosed roller bearing onsteel axles. All bearings have grease nipple lubrication if not maintenance free.
12. SAFETY FEATURE
The hoisting machinery is designed with equipment for emergency lowering of load in case ofpower failure.
The following detectors are provided:- 2x heat detectors in engine room- 2x smoke detectors in cabin- 2x gas detectors (CH4 and H2S) in air intakes.
UPS Supply with 2 phases (220 VAC - 60 Hz).
13. HYDRAULIC PIPES AND HOSES
Hydraulic pipes are of the stainless steel grade.Tube fittings system up to Ø38mm pipes: WALFORM system, nuts are stainless steel AISI
316.
Fittings conforms to standard DIN2353 (ISO8434-1) chromate steel.Fittings above Ø38 pipes: flange sys. SAE J518 and ISO6162 in chromate steel.
Hoses conforms to standard EN856, EN857, EN853. Hose couplings in regular steel. All couplings/fittings are covered with "Denso Tape" to ensure non corrosive environment.The hoses are selected to give a safety factor of min 4 against rupture.
All pressure hoses are pressure tested before they are fitted on to the crane.High pressure fittings are of the chrome-plated type.
