The Labovitz School of Business and Economics has made available opportunities for

students to gain valuable job experience related to their respective field of study prior

to graduation. Internships offer students an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills

gained in the classroom to real problems through work in a sponsoring business.

Most internships offer a salary as well as the opportunity to earn credits through a

supervised work experience.

The Director of the Business internship program, which is

a full-time position, has been working with internship

programs for over 30 years at the collegiate level. The

Director works with business students in helping students

with their internship experience. The Accounting and

Economics Department Chairs, and the Director of the

Health Care Management program assist students with

internships for their respective majors.

The classroom is only the beginning. LSBE continues to

work with the business community to find internships

which will help you gain experience and put your education to work. You will also

make very valuable contacts. For some students, an internship can be the first step

toward a future job. Others use the experience to acquire new skills and knowledge of

processes, or conduct a self-assessment (how well are you prepared for a given occu-

pation), or learn something about yourself through a reflective view about your life.

In almost all instances, friends are made, future contacts have been established, and

in some cases a whole new world may open up that did not exist before.
