• For best results, use the scale in the specified optimum operatingtemperature.
• For best accuracy, perform your mass measurements in cleanenvironments, free of electrostatic and magnetic fields, dust and dirt,moisture, vibration and air currents.
• Use your scale with care, gently loading items to be weighed onto thecenter of the pan. Avoiding rough treatment will aid in the life of yourcompact scale.
• Calibration weights are not provided with the scale.

Battery InstallationThree AA size alkaline batteries are provided.
• Remove the battery cover on the bottom of the scale and place thethree “AA” size alkaline batteries into the compartment as indicated.
• Do not use excessive force or press the weighing pan.
• Re-insert the battery cover.
AC Adapter OperationAC power adapters are available as optional accessories.
• Connect the AC adapter to the power input jack at the rear of the scale.
• Plug the AC adapter into a properly grounded wall outlet.
General Product Features• Power Up Test: When the scale is turned on, all display segments will
appear for approximately 3 seconds before resetting to zero.
• Stable Reading Indication: On the display, a star indicator will appear inthe lower left corner of the display when a stable reading has beenreached.
• Weight Unit Indication: On the display, either g, thk, tsg or trc willappear indicating the weight unit selected.
• Overload: If the applied load exceeds the capacity of the scale, an Ewill appear on the display and the load should be removed immediately.The scale will return to normal operation.
• Zero Function: Values can progressively be added to a sample. Bypressing the On/Off Zero button, the scale display returns to zero. Afteradding additional mass, press On/Off Zero to zero the scale again.Additional mass may be added up to the capacity of the scale.

• Negative Value: When a load is removed from the scale, any zeroedvalue will be displayed as a negative number. To return to normaloperation, the zeroed value can be cancelled by pressing On/Off Zero.
• Low Battery Indication: The display will show Lo when the batteries areweak and need to be replaced.
• Auto Shut-Off: To extend battery life, the scale will automatically turn offafter approximately 4 minutes if no button press or active weighing isoccurring. This feature is only active with battery operation.
Two Button Keypad• On/Off Zero: Pressing this button turns on the scale. This same button
operates the zero feature when the scale is on. Press and hold thisbutton for three seconds to turn the scale off.
• Unit/Cal: Press this button briefly to change the weighing unit. Thefollowing weight units may be selected: Hong Kong Taels (thk), SingaporeTaels (tsg), Taiwan Taels (trc) or grams (g). Press and hold this button tobegin the calibration process.
CalibrationFor best results, calibrate the scale at regular intervals. This is especiallyimportant if the scale is in use for prolonged periods.
• Pressing and holding the Unit/Cal button starts thecalibration process. The display should show CAL.
• The calibration process can be aborted by turning thescale off.
• Press the On/Off Zero button to capture 0. Thedisplay shows -C- while the scale stores the the zeroload signal.
• The display will show C xxx where xxx is thecalibration weight in grams.
• Place the appropriate calibration weight on theplatform.
• Press On/Off Zero button.
• The display shows -C- while the scale stores thecalibration point signal.

LIMITED WARRANTYOhaus compact scales are warranted against defects in materials andworkmanship for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery. Duringthe warranty period, Ohaus will repair, or, at its option, replace anycomponent(s) that prove to be defective at no charge, provided that theproduct is returned, freight prepaid, to Ohaus.
This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accidentor misuse, exposed to radioactive or corrosive materials, has foreignmaterial penetrating to the inside of the product, or as a result of serviceor modification by other than Ohaus. In lieu of a properly returned warrantyregistration card, the warranty period shall begin on the date of shipmentto the authorized dealer. No other express or implied warranty is given byOhaus Corporation. Ohaus Corporation shall not be liable for anyconsequential damages.
