Okayama MOMOTARO Press June 2019 – Aug. 2019 Sightseeing Information Summer Edition 2019 Fruit Kingdom Okayama Okayama Prefecture, the Land of Sunshine, is also known as a major producer of fruits, thanks to the warm climate of the Setouchi region. Among them, Okayama is best known for peaches, which are in season from July to August. Okayama’s white peaches are grown in individual bags and tended to by hand. They are grown with great care, and are known for their melt-in-your-mouth softness and exquisite sweetness. In this edition, we have compiled a variety of information about these peaches. Dates: August 1 (Thu.) – August 31 (Sat.) Time: 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM Okayama Korakuen Garden http://okayama-korakuen.jp/ Okayama Castle http://okayama-kanko.net/ujo/english The annual Okayama Momotaro Festival is Okayama’s largest summer festival. This year, instead of the usual summer firework display, an Ujo Castle Summer Festival will be held in the area around Okayama Castle. Okayama Prefecture, the Land of Sunshine, is also known as a major producer of fruits, thanks to the warm climate of the Setouchi region.
