The Oklahoma Board of Nursing held its first regular meeting of FY 2015 on July 14 15 amp 16 2014 Notice of the meeting was filed with the Secretary of Statersquos Office and noticeagenda was posted outside the meeting room at the Reed Conference Center 5800 Will Rogers Road Midwest City Oklahoma and on the Oklahoma Board of Nursing web site A noticeagenda was also posted on the Cameron Building front entrance at 2915 N Classen Blvd Oklahoma City as well as the Board office 2915 N Classen Blvd Suite 524 24 hours prior to the meeting

The agency currently has 27 FTEs with approval for 30 FTEs Sara Shaver has been hired as a temporary employee beginning July 1st and will work 24 hours per week Susan Jones PhD APRN-CNS was appointed as a Board Member with an effective date of July 17 2014 Ms Jonesrsquo orientation sessions are scheduled for July 29th and August 18th K Glazier provided the Board with a media update including an article published by The Oklahoma Nurses Association (ONA) publication The Oklahoma Nurse titled Your License at Risk An Overview of the Board of Nursing Disciplinary Process Ms Glazier discussed both the article and the response letter sent to the author of the article (collectively included as attachment 7) due to a misstatement not included in the pre-publication article draft reviewed by Oklahoma Board of Nursing staff The contract for body fluid testing has been awarded to Affinity eHealth Inc and K Glazier shared with the Board Members information on some aspects of system functionality and the differences in previous vs current costs to system users In response to questions of the Board Ms Glazier revisited agenda item 51 (b) (ii) on July 15 2014 and reported to Board Members that individuals required to use the system for body fluid testing would have the ability to ascertain from within the module whether or not a supervised practice report has been submitted by their employment supervisor

K Glazier discussed with the Board legislative activity legislation and interim studies which may impact the agency The agencyrsquos permanent rules were approved by Governor Falling through a Governorrsquos Declaration on June 19 2014 The permanent rules will be effective September 12 2014 which is ten days after publication in the Oklahoma Register S Wycoff will provide an education session at the November 2014 Board Meeting on revisions to the Rules of the Oklahoma Ethics Commission
