Mr. McClendon’s presentation was titled “Natural Gas: Demand Opportunities Abound…. But We All Must Help to Make it Happen”. If you missed this presentation, it is available on OCAPL’s home page. It was a very informative presentation by a fellow Landman, describing the four cornerstones of increased gas demand and how the increased demand will lead to a more balanced natural gas market. He went on to provide some suggestions on how we all can help achieve this goal of our industry. He stated that our industry “must embrace new demand opportunities for natural gas and we must support them”. What are some ways we can do that? He offered the following: “Advocate for increased utilization, drive a CNG vehicle, tell your legislators and corporation commissioners to shift power plants that burn out-of-state coal to switch to Oklahoma’s cleaner natural gas and to tell others about the exciting opportunities for greater use of natural gas”. Our next Monday Night Meeting will be April 2, 2012, and will be held at the Oklahoma History Center. Please look for an email with further details in the coming weeks. President’s LetterGreetings! We are nearly half way through March and it looks like Spring is here. I hope you all have had opportunities to get outside and enjoy some of the beautiful weather we have been having lately.

Our third CPL luncheon of the year took place on March 5, 2012 at the Petroleum Club, where Michael Tinney, P.C., gave a presentation to our members at the CPL Luncheon, titled, “Affidavits of Heirship: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly”. As always, the lunch was well attended. The next CPL luncheon is scheduled for April 2 and the speaker will be announced in the near future.

I wanted to thank all of you that were able to make it to our March Monday night meeting. We had reservations for more than 440 members, it was a full house. We appreciate everyone being flexible and braving the traffic/parking and coming to the Petroleum Club.
