OLD SALT PERTH

Maps, Plans and Diagrams

The following diagrammatic aids (maps, plans, renderings and schematics) are to be used in conjunction with the descriptions and contexts provided before each diagram.

Swan Canning Riverpark Concept Footprint

As illustrated on this diagram, the venue Old Salt Perth will be positioned roughly 150m South from the apex of the ferry paths, 400m out from the Elizabeth Quay development. The depth at this location is an average of roughly 1.3m at lowest astronomical tide, allowing sufficient space for the submerged portion of the venue.

Entry to the venue is proposed to occur by private water transport (approx. 38 patrons each trip) from a privately subleased jetty (Jetty 2) from Perth Water Transport/Rottnest Express. Transfers to and from the venue will take approximately 10 minutes, calculated from appropriate speed restrictions on each travel route as well as safe loading/unloading time and safety briefing. The venue is proposed to be secured in place through a four point mooring arrangement. The arrangement is both the safest and most environmentally sound. The mooring arrangement will be permanently placed year-round (aside from maintenance checks, movement for special events or at the Dept. Parks and Wildlife’s / Swan River Trust’s discretion).

4 -Point Mooring System

As designed by Naval Architects MMD, this mooring system is the safest (when 1/20, 1/50 and 1/100 year storms are taken into account) and most environmentally sound solution to permanently positioning the venue. This is discussed in more detail in the Mooring Analysis and Mooring Contingencies included in wider Submission Documentation.

Swan Canning Riverpark Concept Footprint

As above, zoomed in, with actual venue superimposed and ferry routes positioned on either side. The venue is positioned at a safe distance from neighbouring ferry routes in order to be highly visible and additionally be undisturbed by commercial vehicle wake.

Depth Analysis

Taken from Swan Canning River Nautical Chart WA898, this chart has assisted in the proposed safe placement of the venue to maximise visibility from Elizabeth Quay, whilst also maximising floor clearance in the event of a low tide. The lowest astronomical tide heights indicate the venue should not be placed too close to the Point Belches Water Ski Area, or on the Eastern side of the ferry channel in the dredged zone. Given accessibility through the channel markers from Elizabeth Quay, the star marker represents the best possible location for the venue.

Proposed water charter from Barrack Street Jetty

Ensuring that the channel markers are followed accurately, all private transport to and from the venue will be roughly 500m from Barrack Street Jetty. Water charter can occur every 10 minutes during venue open times, allowing for minimised congestion and a high degree of control over patrons entering and exiting the venue.

Floor Plan

The Floor Plan illustrates the distribution of available space between necessary service facilities and space for patrons. Space allocations have been made to ensure safety and compliance from all aspects of design and operation.

Capacity Overlays (different function options)

Given that the primary focus of this venue will be unique event activations, the design focus has been around versatility of setup (ability to convert from a full formal sit-down layout, to a custom event space layout).

The three layouts represent our key event concepts for launch:

1) Blank canvas space for cooperate hire, live music events, open-air cinema screenings2) Casual seating for corporate hire and relaxed day and night events with live music3) Formal seating for corporate hire, weddings, brunch and sit down events

Raw Body Design (actual structure)

These structural drawings are for the actual barge proposed, which will be custom built contingent on approvals. The overall size is 36.5m by 12.2m with a moulded depth of 2.6 and deck capacity of 10T per m2

Emergency Locations Diagram

The objective of the Emergency and Security Management Plan is to clearly outline the process to be followed in the event of an emergency situation occurring at Old Salt Perth. This map is to be used in conjunction with the locations detailed in the plan. This map will be included in highly visible spaces on the venue and the transfer vessel.

Staffing Areas

The staffing for each event will range from 8-13 crew. For an event at maximum capacity (250) the staffing number required is 13 crew consisting of the ‘core complement’, security, lifeguard, bar and kitchen staff. Please refer to the Safety Management System for all details regarding crewing, roles and responsibilities.

The core compliment consist of:1. Master (Operations Manager) - who looks after the transfer vessels, briefings and safe loading and

unloading (venue always in line of sight)2. Engineer - who looks after mechanics on both vessels3. Licensee (Chief Warden) - who looks after venue itself and staff/crew on board

Staffing notes:* The Master will transfer between Barrack St Jetty, the transfer boat and the venue * The Engineer and Licensee will remain positioned on the venue for events* The Security guard located at Barrack St Jetty will transfer to the venue once all patrons are on board

Concept Renderings

As follows are additional concept renderings which illustrate the venue’s aesthetic potential. The renderings are preliminary and are intended to demonstrate the capabilities of a minimal, yet character filled event space on the Swan River.
