IntroductionHave you forgotten all those wonderful party games that you used to play when you were little, like pass the parcel, musical chairs

or hide-and-seek? It’s time to bring back some old-fashioned fun and celebrate the traditional way!

Hide & SeekThe general idea is that one person is “it,” that person closes his or her eyes and counts to a certain number without looking and then he or she tries to find the others.

Simon Says…One person is Simon and starts by saying, “Simon says,<the action>”. Everyone must then do the action. However, if Simon makes an action request without saying “Simon says” to begin the request, anyone who does that action is out.

TagA group of kids decides who will start out as being “it”. That person chases the other people around, trying to tag one of them with their hand. The newly tagged person is now “it”.

Freeze TagThis is a variation of Tag where if the person who is “it” tags you, you have to freeze where you are. Another participant can tag you to unfreeze you.

Musical ChairsIn a circle, arrange chairs facing outward to total one fewer than the number of players. An additional player needs to be in charge of the music. When the music starts, the players walk around the chairs. When the music stops, players sit down in the nearest chair as soon as they can. The one player who does not have a chair is out.

The Chocolate GameThis game is great fun and a chance for children to eat as much chocolate as they possibly can with a knife and fork.

Pass The ParcelIt involves players gathering in a circle and tossing a small object such as a parcel or tennis ball to each other while music plays. The player who is holding the “parcel" when the music stops is out.

Time To Play!Now, try any of these games with your classmates. If you want, you can also try it(them) at home with cousins, siblings, or whoever… All you have to do is just have fun!
