The people of Oldham would like to take you on an experience of where they live, the places they visit and they like to do.

Our school

Uniform is important. Everyone has different uniforms. St. Joseph’s uniform has a brown jumper and yellow and blue stripes around the neck and cuffs. They have a school council run by Year 6 pupils. The school council helps to look after the school and is a voice for the children. Extra clubs and music lessons are a highlight for St. Josephs School. They have clubs such as cross country running, football and netball.

Places of interest

Tandle Hill is a great place. The more time you spend there, the more time you want to stay. Spindles shopping centre is a good place to spend, spend, spend! A relaxing day at swimming centre is just what is needed after a hard week at school. Oldham Coliseum is amazing if you like pantomimes, shouting and booing and generally being entertained by excellent actors.

Location Oldham is placed in the UK. It’s situated in North West England. Oldham is a part of the county of Greater Manchester. Some of the main towns of Oldham are Saddleworth, Royton and Shaw. Lots of other towns are in Oldham as well as the ones which were just mentioned. It is close to the Pennine Moors which are a mountain range in the middle of the UK.

sportsThere’s a football club in Oldham which used to play in the Premier League playing against teams such as Manchester United and Arsnel. It is called Oldham Athletic. England is holding Olympics in 2012 and part of the football tournament will be held in Manchester which is the nearest city to Oldham. Swimming Teams are very popular now so lots of galas are held at local swimming pools.
