The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) is a Catholic, liberal arts oriented, college preparatory secondary school dedicated to the education of young women. For more than 130 years, OLP academic tenets have remained grounded in the spirit of excellence and innovation characterizing the founding Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. OLP’s rigorous curriculum reflects a tradition of self-improvement and empowerment and embraces 21st Century readiness for the future. The result of these endeavors — combined with parents as the educational partners — provides a context of faith-in-action family partnership.

OLP strives to graduate responsible women educated to the needs of society.

FOR COLLEGE AND BEYOND

OLP women serve in local and international communities with gentleness, peace and joy, modeled after the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Students are required to complete 85 hours of community service by the time of graduation; however most go above and beyond the minimum requirements because the culture of OLP’s community embraces service to the “dear neighbor.”

San Diego businesses welcome OLP students who contribute more than 25,000 hours of service to the community annually. Students serve within local nonprofit organizations such as Father Joe’s Villages, the YMCA, local elementary schools, parishes and Catholic Charities.

ON CAMPUS

OLP girls lead full lives, rounded out by athletics, clubs and partnership with the Catholic, all-boys school, St. Augustine (Saints), just a few miles away. OLP students are prominent leaders in the classroom, on the courts and fields, and in their communities. Partnering opportunities with Saints is a natural addition to the school’s agenda.

Partner events with Saints include freshman dance lessons, football and basketball games, formal and casual dances, student council activities, rallies/athletics, theatrical productions, and more!

OLP is proud of its cultural and economic diversity, and its commitment to a well-rounded student enrollment. An ambitious financial-aid program provides tuition assistance to more than 50% of the student population.
