Mexican Power, but it couldbe more.

By: Aldo Francisco Salgado Guerrero

Mexico had seven medals which are the ones we are very proud, but what could happen if the state would support more

the Mexican athletes and the sport in Mexico. To London, Mexico only sent 112 athletes, and where are the others?

This is a question that could change the way to see of Mexican people because the ones that won the medals, it does not matter if it was gold or not, were young people that are getting out.

Mexico won medals in diving in soccer, and also in TKD. The medals were things not very impressed after seeing some of the performances of our athletes. After having in mind only the silhouette of Mexicans the surprise invaded us as they approached to the first places one by one. For diving, both men and women, the tension was always present, beginning with places in the middle of the table of points and gradually went up in the table. With risky and well coordinated nailed Mexico approached the top and glory was slowly approaching Mexican soil. After a round there were a shook in the entire Mexican crowd after seeing the place of the Mexicans in the leader board in third place as second. This was very impressive to see, then the winning of a bronze medal in TKD was very good become with all the effort she had in the fighting zone. Mexico has a place in the medals’ table and it was so bad but also not so good. After it goes the real proof to see if Mexico will have a gold medal in soccer.

El Tri had a not so good first play in the Olympic Games but then they finished with a strong finale beating all their opponent sand finishing with a gold medal versus Brazil. To see a Mexican group being so strong and having such a important medal made Mexico to still believe in some parts of the system that could be

better and also in the sport are Mexico has to see how many talent is around there and they have to know how to explode it because they have a potential group of young people that are having more force and with the correct discipline they could be the next guys that would have a gold medal, not just seven, the number of medals they want.

Page 13: OLYMPIC GAMES

Mo Farah was very happy for winning the 5,000m at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and he was celebrating by lifting his arms.

He has been working all his life for this moment, he shows us his gratitude of his work by celebrating in a particular way, he was just crying of his happiness. To get to London he had to make a really big journey, it took him to west London from Somalia at the age of eight, to the Kenyan mountains and the French Pyrenees and ultimately to Portland, Oregon, under the tutelage of Alberto Salazar.

He became to have a lot of achievement when his PE teacher became to support him, his teacher Watkinson was his mentor and his coach too, he was the one that drove him to the championships, he was like his family or like his father, but more he was his best friend.

When he became the best distance runner in all Europe, he started something big in his carrier because he decided to join Alan Storey, he was one of the best coaches in the world, he has trained many big athletes in the history, and now he was starting to prepare Mo Farah. Next, Farah became the first non-American athlete to be chosen by the Cuban-born coach, and so he was relocated on Nike Oregon project to dedicate himself and his life for becoming the best distance runner in the world. He was the most prepared athlete in this sport; he had a long journey to get to this point, and that’s why he succeeded. He is a good example of a dedicated person; he is very passionate with his sport and all the things he makes in his life.

The “last” medalBy: Aldo Francisco Salgado Guerrero

Michael Phelps was one of the most favorite athletes of London 2012 in swimming disciplining. His history in the water was one reason of his fame, and his fame was a consequence of the harder discipline he had. He practices the 365 days of the year and that is why he won those medals.

This year in London Phelps, in his first competition, he looked very insecure and some of his opponents were very close to win him. Also in the last Olympic Games, in Beijing, Phelps was an amazing new with all the records he broke. With all that we saw four years ago, we were expecting something more amazing or maybe something that could overcome those marks he already broke and had.

What we saw in London was a Michael Phelps that was saying goodbye to the Olympic Games, not only to the country, he ensures London were his last Olympic Games and what he has from these experiences was the satisfaction to do what he loves and had a good result doing it always with passion, discipline and with compromise. This kind of competition are one of the most important he had because is an opportunity to him, and also to the entire world, to demonstrate what he is

able to do and what things he have the decision to respect them

Page 15: OLYMPIC GAMES

and to say he is not going to do it.

When he was swimming in London, some images were uploaded without his permission with the purpose of promotes a bag of one of the most expensive company of leather, Louis Vuitton. It could have a consequence of losing all the medals he won in London 2012.

Theses medals he have won in all de Olympic games is a goal to him because these

competitions are one of the most important he had being. It doesn’t matter that he had more medals in the last year, in Beijing. It is ok to him if he only won one medal, but to be part of these people that has a lot of talent, and also that are people with a lot of discipline and have consistency is very important to remarkable because is very easy to see but not to do. His last gold medal was a goal he would never forget an also we do not do.

Page 16: OLYMPIC GAMES

Usain Bolt New world’s recordsUsain Bolt made a great participation in the Olympic Games, because he made new more sprint records; and he won the gold medal.

Everybody knew before the competitions began, that he was one of the most prepared athletes in the Olympic Games; he had won many competitions in his life, and most of them in first place.

Everybody said that even he was very prepared, he had had hunger for success, and he didn’t try to hide.

And he said with his own words this: "Yes, definitely I will be there (in Rio), as long as I'm fit and I'm ready," Bolt said at a promotional event in Lausanne ahead of

Friday morning's (AEST) Diamond League meet.

"It'll be a little bit harder but I'm

looking forward to it."

About what he said, he is very convinced to give a try to that future opportunity, in Rio; he hopes he is going to win again; so that’s why a lot of countries are beginning from this exact moment to prepare their athletes for the next competition.

And we can say too about American Carl

Lewis, that we all know; that he was also a four-time men's long jump gold medallist, dominating

the event from 1984 in Los Angeles to Atlanta in 1996. That’s a very good example of a another great winner in the Olympic games, but he thought a little different, he told us this: "It's just about making different goals,

there's a lot of things I can do in the sport," which is telling us that if he wins something, is because he knows that everything he do, is because he has practiced different many things, and he is free to decide in his own carrier.
