Sri Swamiji and Devotees performing Chandi Homa HARI OM October was a busy month with lots of celebrations starting with Ekaadasi and Ramanama Sankeertana appraising Lord Rama. Navarathri was celebrated grandly from 8th through 16th at the temple with lots of devotees participating in daily pujas chanting Lalitha Sahastranama stotram, Mahalakshmi Astakam, Mahishasur Mardini, Saraswati, Annapurna stotram and Devi stuthi. Mother Goddesses was offered many different alankaras like Sakhambari alankaram, Pasupu alankaram, Vastra alankara, Silver alankara and Pulangi Seva during Navarathri. Kumari ka puja was performed daily by devotees who sponsored the puja and got the blessings from the Goddess Mother. On this occasion, Swamiji Narayananda spoke to the devotees about the importance of Navarathri puja and explained that “God is One” in different forms, and also that by loving each other we spread love and bring peace and harmony. Board members Rajesh, Krishna and Vijayalakshmi spoke on the occasion, and Rajesh updated the devotees about the status of new temple construction. All the board members along with devotees thanked Swamiji and volunteers for taking lots of effort in decorating Mother Goddesses with beautiful alankaras and performing pujas during Navarathri. They also requested more devotees to volunteer for their time and help their temple. Chandi Homa was performed on Vijayadasami day and Aksharabhyasam was also organized for kids who are just starting to read and write. In the evening, Sumangali Puja was performed by Vijayalakshmi, Padmavathi Godapati, Sumathi, Leela and Vijayasri Rao and lots of devotees took blessings from them. This puja is done honoring all the married women who offer their unselfish love to their husbands, kids and the entire family without expecting anything in return. Satyanarayana puja along with Balaji Abhishekam was performed on Sharath Purnima day the 22 nd Oct. Sri Padmanabha Rao and Ramadevi sponsored the Abhishekam on the occasion of their wedding anniversary and received the blessings. Prabhu and Poonam Goel along with many devotees participated on that day and honored many couples who performed the puja. Pulangi seva for Balaji was also performed on that day with the help of Prabhuram and Ram who helped Swamiji in performing Abhisheskam. Angaraka Chathurthi was performed with the help of Suresh Bellagiri and Prabhuram. Please join us to celebrate the upcoming Guruvandana program from Nov 18 to 21st, 2010 --Balaji Temple board

OUR PURPOSE The purpose of Balaji Temple is to form a Hindu Temple and Vedic Cultural Center on the Peninsula in the heart of Silicon Valley where people can come together to study and worship, regardless of our different backgrounds. Our aim is to promote the feeling of universal love and unity among all people. We will share the ancient wisdom of the Vedas and the Upanishads (sacred texts of India) with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. We will celebrate the One Truth behind all religions: that God is One and in all of us. Our worship services are free and open to all who wish to celebrate with us. All are welcome.
