CATHOLIC CHARITIES YOU DID IT FOR ME

Tessa* is a stay-at-home mom of five children without medical insurance. She applied for the insur-ance with the help of Catholic Charities. It‟s a work in progress, but she appreciates the case manager‟s dedi-cation. Tessa‟s children received dental insurance and emergency medical care in less than two weeks. Tessa says, “the case managers are very helpful; sometimes people don‟t know where to go. I got help as soon as I got here.” Catholic Charities is dedicated to helping people access the medical care they need. Catholic Charities agencies assisted 12,528 children in 2014 to enroll in the Children‟s Health In-surance Program. *Name changed to protect privacy

EL VATICANO PROHIBE LAS HOSTIAS SIN GLUTEN Y EL VINO DE “DUDOSA AUTENCIDAD” PARA LAS MISAS

El pan conocido como hostia, que se utiliza para celebrar las eucaristía no debe estar libre de gluten, sin embargo, puede ser hecho de organismos genéticamente modifi-cados, según la más reciente instrucción emanada desde la Congregación para el Cul-to Divino y la disciplina de los Sacramentos.

Ha sido enviada una carta a todas las Conferencias Episcopales por parte del Carde-nal Robert Sarah donde se hace ver que las hostias pueden tener bajo contenido de gluten, sin embargo, aclaró que deben tener suficiente proteína de trigo para que no necesiten mayores aditivos.

Sobre el vino utilizado debe ser “natural, del fruto de la uva, puro e incorrupto, no mezclado con otras sustancias.” Dijo el Cardenal: “Esta totalmente prohibido utilizar vino de dudosa autenticidad.”

Para las personas que no pueden tolerar el vino, el uso de mustum, o un mosto de uva espero no fermentado, se considera “materia válida” para el sacramento.

Santa Marta-Santa del día del 29 de julio

Santa Marta es la Patrona de: Cocineros Amas de casa Servicio Camareros y camareras

La historia de Santa Marta: Marta, María y su hermano Lázaro eran evi-dentemente amigos íntimos de Jesús. Él vino a su casa simplemente como un huésped bien recibido, en lugar de celebrar la conversión de un pecador como Zaqueo o uno sin ceremonia recibido por un sospechoso fariseo. Las hermanas se sienten libres de invocar a Jesús en la muerte de su hermano, aunque un regreso a Judea en ese momento parece una muerte casi segura.

Sin duda, Marta era una persona activa. En una ocasión, ella prepara la comida para Jesús y, posi-blemente, sus compañeros invitados y afirma directamente el obvio: Todas las manos deben lanzar para ayudar con la cena.

Sin embargo, como señala el estudioso de la Biblia, el Padre John McKenzie, no necesita ser califi-cada como un "activista no recolectado". El evangelista está enfatizando lo que nuestro Señor dijo en varias ocasiones sobre la primacía de lo espiritual: "... no te preocupes Su vida, lo que va a comer [o beber], o sobre su cuerpo, lo que va a usar .... Buscad primero el reino [de Dios] y su justicia "(Mateo 6: 25b, 33a); "Uno no vive de pan solo" (Lucas 4: 4b); "Bienaventurados los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia ..." (Mateo 5: 6a).

La gran gloria de Marta es su simple y fuerte declaración de fe en Jesús después de la muerte de su hermano. "Jesús le dijo: 'Yo soy la resurrección y la vida; Todo aquel que cree en mí, aunque muera, vivirá, y todo aquel que vive y cree en mí nunca morirá. ¿Crees esto? "Ella le dijo:" Sí, Señor. He lle-gado a creer que tú eres el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios, el que viene al mundo '"(Juan 11: 25-27).

VATICAN PROHIBITS GLUTEN-FREE HOSTS AND WINE OF “DOUBTFUL AUTHENTICITY” FOR MASS

The bread known as the host, which is used to celebrate the Eucharist should not be gluten-free, but can be made from genetically modified organisms, according to the latest instruction emanating from the Congregation for Divine Worship and the disci-pline of the Sacraments .

A letter has been sent to all Episcopal Conferences by Cardinal Robert Sarah where it is made known that the hosts may have low gluten content, however, it clarified that they must have enough wheat protein so that they do not need bigger additives.

Also, the wine used must be “natural, from the fruit of the grape, pure and incorrupt, not mixed with other substances.” The Cardinal said: “It is totally forbidden to use wine of dubious authenticity.”

For people who can not tolerate wine, the use of mustum, or a grape must I expect unfermented, is considered "valid matter" for the sacrament.

Saint Martha—Saint of the Day for July 29

Saint Martha is the Patron Saint of: Cooks Housewives Servants Waiters and Waitresses

Saint Martha’s Story: Martha, Mary, and their brother Lazarus were evi-dently close friends of Jesus. He came to their home simply as a welcomed guest, rather than as one celebrating the conversion of a sinner like Zacchaeus or one unceremoniously received by a suspicious Pharisee. The sisters feel free to call on Jesus at their brother‟s death, even though a return to Judea at that time seems almost certain death.

No doubt Martha was an active sort of person. On one occasion, she prepares the meal for Jesus and possibly his fellow guests and forthrightly states the obvious: All hands should pitch in to help with the dinner.

Yet, as biblical scholar Father John McKenzie points out, she need not be rated as an “unrecollected activist.” The evangelist is emphasizing what our Lord said on several occasions about the primacy of the spiritual: “…[D]o not worry about your life, what you will eat [or drink], or about your body, what you will wear…. But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:25b, 33a); “One does not live by bread alone” (Luke 4:4b); “Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness…” (Matthew 5:6a).

Martha‟s great glory is her simple and strong statement of faith in Jesus after her brother‟s death. “Jesus told her, „I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?‟ She said to him, „Yes, Lord. I have come to believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world‟” (John 11:25-27).

Reflection: Scripture commentators point out that in writing his account of the raising of Lazarus, Saint John intends that we should see Martha‟s words to Mary before Lazarus was raised as a sum-mons that every Christian must obey. In her saying “The teacher is here and is asking for you,” Je-sus is calling every one of us to resurrection—now in baptismal faith, forever in sharing his victory over death. And all of us, as well as these three friends, are in our own unique way called to special friendship with him.
