No.2745-LC-TR-01/2015/T. The following draft of certain rules further to amend

the Odisha Motor Vehicle Rules, 1993, which the State Government propose to make in

exercise of the powers conferred by Section 96 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (59 of

1988), are hereby published as required under sub-section (1) of Section 212 of the said

Act for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given

that the said draft will be taken into consideration on or after expiry of a period of thirty

days from the date of their publication of this notification in the Odisha Gazette.

Any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person with respect to

the said draft rules before expiry of the period so specified will be considered by the State

Government.

DRAFT

1. These rules may be called the Odisha Motor Vehicles (Amendment)

Rules, 2014.

2. In the Odisha Motor Vehicle Rules, 1993, after sub-rule (5) of rule-73, the

following sub-rules shall be inserted, namely:

(6) Every holder of a stage carriage permit shall, install a Close Circuit

Television (CCTV) and Global Positioning System (GPS) in the vehicle duly

certified by the Regional Transport Officer and keep such CCTV and GPS in

good condition;

(7) Every holder of a stage carriage permit shall intimate in advance to

the State Transport Authority or the Regional Transport Authority, as the

case may be, the name of the Driver, Conductor or Helper, if any, with their

address, photograph, identity proof and the Police report regarding

antecedent and character before their engagement as such and also in the

event of any change of such engagement.
