Description Neoseiulus cucumeris is a predatory mite used to suppress immature thrip, broad and cyclamen mites in ornamental, fruit, vegetable and cannabis crops. Cucumeris adults are pear-shaped, 0.5 mm long, with long legs. The eggs are round and transparent and measure 0.14 mm in diameter. These mites lay their eggs on leaf hairs (trichomes) and along the veins on the inner surface of leaves. The eggs hatch about 3 days later. Nymph (juvenile stage) look like adults except that they are smaller. Life cycle Optimal conditions are 20 °C to 25 °C and a relative humidity of 66% to 70%. Life cycle lasts 10 to 20 days at 20°C. Adults can live up to 30 days. Females lay 1-3 eggs per day, for a total of 35 eggs in their lifetime. Adults consume 1 thrips per day. Cucumeris does not enter diapause. Neoseiulus cucumeris is a predatory mite used to suppress immature thrip, broad and cyclamen mites in ornamental, fruit, vegetable and cannabis crops.

    Life cycle

    • Optimal conditions are 20 °C to 25 °C and a relative humidity of 66% to 70%.

    • Life cycle lasts 10 to 20 days at 20°C.• Adults can live up to 30 days.• Females lay 1-3 eggs per day, for a total

of 35 eggs in their lifetime.• Adults consume 1 thrips per day.• Cucumeris does not enter diapause.• Do not use above 25°C (77°F). Use pred-

    atory mite Amblyseius swirskii.

  • Application

Introduce the predatory mites Neoseiulus cucumeris as soon as the plants arrive or when your production starts.Once introduced, the predatory mites move through the foliage and attack thrips (eggs, juvenile thrips) and broad mites (eggs, juveniles, adults).

Adjust the rate and frequency of introductions according to the history or the pressure of the target pests. In case of infestation, combine with the predatory bug Orius insidiosus and the predatory soil mite Stratiolaelaps scimitus.

The bran substrate contains all the Cucumeris life stages (eggs, juveniles and adults) and in addition a feeder mite for food. On the other hand, bran substrate can taint the foliage.
