Association of Dravya Vijnan specialists

(ADVISE), is hosting a National Seminar on “Novel

clinical pharmacological approaches in search of

new Ayurvedic drugs” on August 2014, in connection

with its Sixth Annual Conference.

Debates and discussions is an important method to

enrich knowledge. The National Seminar is planned

with such a motto. In addition, it is also aimed to

provide an arena for the P.G scholars of

Dravyagunaijnan to express their talents and to develop

their presentation skills by conducting a paper and a

poster presentation competition for them on a national

level. Another key feature is an interactive workshop on

modification of formulations to benefit practicing

doctors. We also plan to give our respects to the

veterans in this subject.

The programme shall be conducted in two days. A

study tour to the Hortus Malabaricus museum in Hill

Palace is planned for interested delegates (optional) on

third day. All entries are to be sent along with evidence

of payment of registration fee. P G scholars should also

enclose a letter of authority from the Head of

institution/ Department.

All abstracts submitted will be published in the

seminar souvenir and released on the seminar day.

Papers for presentation in the seminar are invited

from the faculty of Dravyagunavijnana and other

doctors with a PG in Dravyaguna Vijnana. Experts

from related fields as pharmacology, pharmacy,

pharmacognosy etc are also welcome to present

papers. Soft copies should reach the Convenor

within the last dates specified.

Vaidyan memorial Award instituted by

Dr.N.Viswanathan shall be given to the thesis

selected as best from among the P.G thesis

presented for the competition. Thesis submitted to

any University in India during the years 2012-2014

shall only be considered for this award. Soft copies

of thesis should reach the Convener within the last

dates specified. Hard copies (returnable) shall

presented on intimation.

A poster presentation competition for Dravyaguna

P.G scholars on the subjects mentioned shall be

conducted. Cash prizes of Rs: 2500 /-, 2000/-, and

1000/- will be awarded the posters scoring first,

second and third places. Abstracts and full

presentation of selected abstracts are to reach the

Convener within the last dates specified.

The posters should be original, in English, number

of words not exceeding 300, flex printed with a

size not exceeding 120cms x 90 cms and readable

from a distance of 1.5 mtrs.

A paper presentation competition for Dravyaguna

P.G scholars in concerned and allied subjects shall

be conducted. Cash awards of Rs: 5000 /-, 3000/-,

and 1000/-, instituted by Dr.P.P.Dileepkumar

(AIARD, Udaymperoor) will be awarded to those

getting first, second and third places. Each

participant will get 10 minutes (8 minutes for

presentation and 2 minutes for interaction).

The abstracts should be typed in MS Word

format in 12 pt sized Arial/ Times New Roman

Fonts with 1.5 line spacing, not exceeding 200

words and laser printed in one side of A4 paper. A

soft copy also must be sent along with the hard

copy. Abstracts and full papers in PowerPoint

format should reach the Convener within the last

dates specified.
