On the hunt for the 10th time in the “forests” of the Fair!

10th anniversary edition of the International Hunting Fair EXPOHunting and 5th edition of Shooting,

Military and Shooting, Military And Survival Fair EXPOShooting were very successful. This year's exhibition,

as in previous years, covered the whole area of Expo Silesia, i.e. 10.5 thousand sq.m. The success of the Fair lies

not only in the attractive offer of 260 Exhibitors from 10 countries, representing nearly 500 of the world’s

brands, but also more than 60 accompanying events. The fair was visited by almost 15 thousand visitors,

distributors and individual customers. EXPOHunting and EXPOShooting are brands recognizable throughout Europe;

the events host hunters, foresters, shooters and enthusiasts of outdoor activities not only from all over Poland, but

also from the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany. Our exhibitors confirm that this is the place

where they conclude the most of commercial transactions during B2B and B2C meetings. The organizers, however,

are glad that our fair is growing to become a trendsetter!

Just like in the past years, the fair was divided into 3 thematic zones. In Zone A the exhibitors presented weapons,

ammunition, mounts and optics as well as night vision systems. Zone B offered hunting clothing, footwear, knives,

bows and crafts. In Zone C the visitors could buy tools and accessories useful for each hunter in the forest and for

all fans of outdoor activities. There were also a special hunter cuisine buffet called “Gifts of the forest” as well as the

presentations of off-road vehicles and equipment for foresters. For several years, the exhibition has been successively

extended with assortment for people interested in shooting, military and survival, which in the perspective of the

development of this market is extremely important for both our exhibitors and visitors. For the first time, the thematic

scope of the fair was complemented by the Forest Management Showroom EXPOForest.

The Fair as always was a great occasion to present new products on the Polish market, and among them

launches of weapons, ammunitions, clothing, footwear and accompanying accessories. New products were offered

under both Polish and global brands, which were presented on our market for the first time.

EXPOHunting Fair 2019 was organised under the Honorary Patronage of: the Secretary of State of the Ministry

of Environment - Ms Małgorzata Golińska and the Polish Hunting Association and in cooperation with the

Regional Master of the Hunt - President of the Regional Management Board of the Polish Hunting Association in

Katowice as Patron. “To be a hunter” was the main topic which was discussed at the stand of the Polish Hunting

Association. We could learn, step by step, where and how to start a one-year training and also where a course and

exam can be taken. There was also an educational program for children and youth.

The General Directorate of State Forests in Warsaw also took the Honorary Patronage of EXPOHunting. At the

State Forests stand, guests could obtain detailed information on hunting management, including the organisation of

hunts in the animal breeding centres run by the State Forests. As every year, the foresters from the Regional

Directorate of the State Forests in Katowice prepared an extensive educational program and natural exhibition.

On the first day of the Fair, the visitors could learn about the details of the project conducted by the State Forests

called “Healthy Food from the Polish Forests” and they had the opportunity to taste delicious and healthy game

meat products and forest fruits under the logo “Good from the Forest”. This year’s novelty was an exhibition

organised by the Foresters from the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Wrocław. There was a possibility to

discuss the activities of the program called “Beekepers from the Sudetes” and on Sunday to participate in a

lecture on the active and passive forms of bee protection within the area of the Forest Inspectorate of Międzylesie.

The opening ceremony of the EXPOHunting and EXPOShooting Fair was attended by distinguished guests. After the

musical accent of the Band of Hunting Signalmen from the Secondary Technical School of Forestry in Brynek, the

President of the Management Board of Expo Silesia, dr inż. Ludomir Tuszyński welcomed the guests of honour,

among others: Ms Barbara Chrobak – Member of the Polish Parliament, member of the Parliamentary Team for

Hunting Culture and Tradition, Mr Leszek Piechota - Senator of the Republic of Poland, Mr Wojciech Cieplak – Advisor

to the Minister of the Environment in the Department of Forestry, Mr Hubert Hamulecki - Advisor to the Minister of

the Environment in the Department of Forestry, Mr Jeremiasz Świerzawski - Deputy Mayor of Sosnowiec, Mr Rafał

Malec – President of the Supreme Hunting Council of the Polish Hunting Association, Prof. Leszek Markuszewski –

Member of the Main Board of the Polish Hunting Association, Mr Jarosław Kuczaj – Member of the Main Board of the

Polish Hunting Association, Mr Radosław Cywiński - Vice-President of the Supreme Hunting Council of the Polish

Hunting Association, Mr Jan Błaszczyk – Chief Specialist of the General Directorate of the State Forests, Mr Hubert

Wiśniewski – Deputy Director of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Katowice, Colonel (r.) Jerzy Jan

Salamucha – President of the National Defence League.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the representatives of self-governments from the region and all over

Poland, representatives of the Supreme Hunting Council, Regional Directorates of the State Forests, Collector and

Hunting Culture Club of the Polish Hunting Association with Mr Maciej Bogdański - President of the Katowice-Nowy

Sącz Branch, the Knights of the Order of the Golden Deer with their Marshall, Mr Eugeniusz Gwiazdowski,

representatives of Voivodship Boards of the National Defence League. During the opening ceremony, special thanks

and statuettes were given to the most important institutions supporting the Fair.

Thanks for the active promotion of the development of EXPOHunting Fair through the substantial support and

organisation of attractions for Visitors were given to: GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF THE STATE FORESTS, REGIONAL

Five companies participating in all ten editions of EXPOHunting Fair were awarded as well. Distinctions and

statuettes for participation in all editions of the Fair and support in creating EXPOHunting brand were awarded to

Fair in Expo Silesia is a great opportunity to participate in meetings for hunters, nature enthusiasts and fans of

outdoor activities. Our guests could choose their favourite topics from a rich programme of nearly 60 accompanying

events: shows, presentations or competitions. A visit to the EXPOHunting Fair is an excellent opportunity to cultivate

hunting traditions and for non-hunters - to get to know more about them. Everyone could participate in concerts

and presentations of hunting signals performed by RDLP Representative Band of the Hunting Signalmen in

Katowice, Representative Band of Regional Management of the Polish Hunting Association in Katowice, RDLP

Representative Band of the Hunting Signalmen “Polesia Czar” from Lublin and Band of the Hunting Signalmen from

the Secondary Technical School of Forestry in Brynek.

Those who love birds of prey, especially those who prefer hunting with falcons, were invited to a presentation of the

birds of prey on the stage. While the visitors were admiring the falcons from the Falconers’ Nest Club, their owners

talked about their habits, role in the nature and during hunting.

For those who appreciate the values of not only the national fauna and flora, there were trophies from Poland and

the most distant places of the world, among others from Africa, such as a rhinoceros, lion, lioness with a warthog,

bear and African buffalo. Great exhibitions of exotic trophies were prepared by Safari Club Association and

Pracownia Preparatorska "Taxidermy” K. Wnęczak (taxidermy workshop).

At the stand of “Brać Łowiecka” the visitors had the opportunity to look at the most interesting antlers of the

2018/2019 season, selected in the 8th edition of the competition co-organized by the editors of Hunting Brothers

magazine and Swarovski Optik company, as well as antlers with a gross weight of 830 g, selected in the competition

for the heaviest antlers of the 2018/2019 season co-organized with Kahles company.

For the fourth time, the International Hunting Fair EXPOHunting was accompanied by National Show of Hunting

Dogs, organised by Polish Kennel Club – Branch in Bytom. As every year, the Exhibition was one of the main

attractions for visitors and exhibitors from all over Poland and Europe. The purpose of the Exhibition is to popularize

hunting cynology among hunters and non-hunters. It is the only event of this kind in Poland. The condition for

participation is that the dog has the Working Class Certificate (WCC) awarded on the basis of results obtained in

work competitions of the hunting dogs. The new formula of the exhibition allowed for submitting applications not

only for the working group, but also junior, intermediate, open, champion and veteran group with the said Certificate

attached.

The visitors of EXPOHunting really enjoyed the shows of the noble art of deer calling, prepared by Mr Tomasz

Maliński, multiple champion of Poland and two-time champion of Europe in deer calling. During this year’s edition

of Fair, the visitors could again take part in the show of predator calling. The event was organized by

GUNBROKER.PL. Our guests could savour the taste of delicious game meat products, breadstuff, sweet baked

goods, alcoholic beverages and regional products on a dozen stands in the area of the “Gifts of the Forest”.

Because of delicious smells floating in the air it was very easy to get to Gobarto or Darz Bór TV stands, where the

culinary shows of “Wild Cuisine” took place. This is where every visitor enjoying both challenges and good food

could compete in eating the Wildburgers!

Polish Bowhunting Association organized shows and prepared presentations about the arcana of bowhunting.

Mr Daniel Wojnar, representative of the Association of Shooters and Arms Collectors, was talking about the

access to firearms and access licences for arms for collection purposes. During the workshops for hunters one could

test the entries in the electronic records of hunting and those willing to expand their knowledge were invited to the

meetings under the Aware Hunter Academy.

There were also attractions for enthusiasts of EXPOShooting: shooting clubs, archery ranges and paramilitary groups

were located in the military zone. It was possible to check own reflex shooting from ASG replicas for example at the

stand of Centre of Role-Playing Games FURIA. The visitors could also try their hand at the laser gun or 3D

archery shooting range of the Silesian Shooting Club Alfa. During these 3 days of the fair we made a shooting

range available to you, where you could train under the supervision of the most talented Polish archers. This form

of competition and fun is becoming increasingly popular, which is a well-known fact for the organizers of this

attraction, the Archery Centre S.C. K. and L. Socha. The youngest could have a shot at an archery range

prepared especially for them by Fabian Pie3k.

The lovers of weapons (also historical and collector’s items) for sure have found something interesting on the stands

of Polish Association of Arms Collectors, Giwera Association of Arms Enthusiasts, Silesian Association

of Arms Enthusiasts and Association of Shooters and Arms Collectors. At the stand of SGO PERUN you

could see ASG replicas and accessories.

During the formal banquet the Organizers awarded the highest award - the Expo Silesia MEDAL to the companies

F.H. "KNIEJA” M.RUBIŚ, KOLBA.PL and TOWARZYSTWO HANDLU ZAGRANICZNEGO INCORSA SP. Z

O.O. for a significant contribution in the development of the Fair, interesting form of presentation and effective

promotion of EXPOHunting and EXPOShooting.

activity. This year SAFARI CLUB ASSOCIATION celebrated its 10th anniversary and we congratulated P.W. PO-KO

Krzysztof Jóźwik its 25th anniversary of the company establishment.

The advertising campaign of the Fair was present in the Polish and foreign industry media: in magazines

(among others “Brać Łowiecka”, “Magazyn Sezon”, “Strzał”, “Svět myslivosti”, “Trybuna Leśnika”, “Łowiec

Tarnowski”), in the Internet (among others Facebook, lovuzdar.sk, Łowiecki.pl, netgun.pl, optykamysliwska.pl,

poluje.pl, poradniklowiecki.pl, MILMAG.pl, darzbór24.pl) and TV (DARZ BÓR TV). We were present on different

events organised for the industry and hunting fans in Poland and abroad. The Fair was visited by numerous

journalists from more than 30 branch and general media.
