This is a debate on the pros and cons of legalizing marijuana, originally published in BC Magazine circa 1995. The subtlety of the concept may elude the casual skimmer, so we'll lay it out for you. On one side, Joe Nickell, aka as "J", writes an essay in favor of legalization whilst simultaneously denigrating marijuana. On the other side, Bart Everson, aka "B", offers a screed against legalization that paradoxically valorizes the herb.
