Reminder About Weekend Masses While we have begun the full schedule of

weekend Masses, please remember: Space at Mass, due to social distancing requirements

is limited and you must register to attend. A letter explaining the process was sent to all registered

parishioners. If you did not receive your letter, you may call the Parish Office to register to attend a weekend Mass. Thank you.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…” J 3:16

Is your love conditional? Is there a price others have to pay to receive your love and forgiveness? Are you generous with your

time, skills, money and possessions? If you give someone something, do you expect something in return? Do you give your time freely or do you “fit it in” when it’s convenient for

you? God desires a personal relationship with us so much that He gave us His Son, unconditionally!

Pray for a grateful and generous heart.

The Most Holy Trinity A well-choreographed dance can be truly inspirational. Each movement and step are interconnected, each contributing a

piece of the unfolding artistic story. The beholder is caught up in the rhythms, music, and gestures, realizing that none are dispensable and all are necessary. The same is true of the

Divine Dance of the Trinity. Each Person plays a part, using unique gestures and movements that are connected to the other Divine Partners. They tell a story of love. Every movement and

step is born of love and flows on into eternity. The Divine Dance never ends.

God the Creator powerfully, yet with gentle love, leads. Creating and recreating, birthing and sustaining, He dances with

the compassionate incarnate Son, guided by the breath of the Holy Spirit. They are three distinct Persons but move as One.

On one hand, the cascading flow of their Presence appears motionless, yet on the other, flows and moves with effortless

attention. They share one heart, one goal, and one purpose and invite all of creation to join in their dance, their joy.

The energy of the Trinity flows through all created things. It is a dance of the heart, not of the mind. It has to be experienced, not dissected, and contemplated, not understood. We stand in awe

of the Divine Dance and find ourselves watching in amazement all that God creates and sustains. The dance continues in the

majesty of a mountain, the power and wonder of an ocean, and the vastness of the universe. It moves in the cry of a newborn

infant and in the soul of one who has been forgiven. It flows in the cry for justice and in the wounds of the oppressed. It circles through the changing of seasons, the cycles of birth and death,

and the wisdom that one acquires when they love God. The Dance never ends. Its movements and rhythms go on

forever. The Trinitarian Dance sustains all things, endures all things, and brings hope. You are invited to dance. Don’t just

watch as if you were simply a spectator. Join in the dance and move as they move. ©LPi

WHAT IS THE TRINITY?

“A man named Don Simms relates a story about his young nephew, who was overheard to say, reassuring his sister, ‘You don’t have to be afraid of the Holy Ghost. It’s just God with a sheet over His head.’” ~ Don Simms, As Kids See It

I guess, for many, “God with a sheet over His head” is about as good an explanation of the Holy Spirit as anything. When it comes to understanding the Holy Trinity — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — we almost always seem to be at a loss.

There are some mysteries of the faith that we will never be able to understand until we have the chance to see God face-to-face. At that time, we will understand everything. Until then, the best we can do is to try to embrace the great mysteries of the faith as well as to continue forward in living and expressing our faith.

On Trinity Sunday, we ponder the fact that our God is three distinct persons yet only one God. Throughout history, we have responded to each of the person’s of God according to the roles to which we have ascribed to them.

We have always portrayed the Father as creator. Whenever we reflect upon Genesis and creation, we generally think “Father.” When we talk about Jesus, we speak of “redeemer.” It was that second person of the Trinity who died upon the cross and rose from the dead in order to redeem us from sin and death. The third person of the Holy Trinity, whom we celebrated last Sunday at Pentecost, is the Holy Spirit. We ascribe the role of “sanctifier” to Him as the Spirit is the one who makes us holy through the incredible gifts and fruits of the Spirit.

Of course, God is more than role. However, that is the way that we have come to understand Him best. Each of us responds to God differently. Some see God as Father and, when they pray, it is always to that person of the Trinity. Some have a relationship with the Son and their prayer is generally directed to Jesus. Still others have a connection to God by praying to the Spirit.

When the Church prays, we pray to the Triune God. Most prayers at Mass and in other liturgies are address to the Father and end through the intercession of the Son and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. We realize that God is one and that each person of God is just as active in our lives as the other because they all are one.

We may not understand it; but, we celebrate our Triune God today. Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever!

FAITH ACTION: Ask God to reveal Himself to you more fully this day. Praise Him for His love.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE At twenty, you want to be the master of your fate and the captain of your soul. At fifty, you’re inclined to settle for being the master of your weight and the captain of your bowling team. Patrick said, “Doc, I don’t want to brag, but I can do the same thing at fifty I did at twenty!” The doctor said, “What's that, Pat?” Patrick said, “Lie!”

PLEASE HELP YOUR PARISH IF YOU CAN Times are tough for many people and we certainly understand that. However, if you are able to contribute, we really do need your help. For those who can continue to provide for our parish needs, there are three ways to contribute: Contribute securely online via PayPal, debit or credit

card by selecting the Donate Now button on our parish website (www.stm-church.com).

Begin an automated online payment by completing an Automated Donation form found at the Parish Office.

Thank you for being a part of the St. Thomas More Parish Community and for your continued support. We look forward to a day when we can gather together again to share in the Eucharist.

WHO ARE OUR NEW PASTORAL COUNCIL MEMBERS? Every year, on Pentecost Sunday, we are used to selecting four new members for our Parish Pastoral Council to replace those leaving. The preparation for the selection, though, takes several weeks. There is the nomination process, contacting those nominated to see if they accept, and a three week discernment process. Because of the pandemic, we could not do any of the preparation process. To make things easier on everyone, I asked all of the Parish Pastoral Council members to extend their terms by one year. It will be a couple of months before we can even get back together again. This will give us an opportunity to continue steering the parish even as we prepare for the process next spring. Thank you to the Parish Pastoral Council members for agreeing to extend their terms by one year! God bless you!

Stewardship Thoughts

"Give all of yourself to God, and God will give you all of Himself." St. Anthony of Padua

"Remember the past with gratitude. Live the present with enthusiasm. Look forward to the future with confidence."

St. Pope John Paul II

"O God, grant that whatever good things I have, I may share generously with those who have not, and whatever good things I

do not have, I may request humbly from those who do." St. Thomas Aquinas

"We are growing in holiness when we become less afraid. We are less afraid of suffering, death, failure, and what other's think. We become more free. We are more confident and joyful in the

Father's love." Ralph Martin

"We need a community to help us reach our goal. Faith is not an individual journey; it's a team sport." Allen Hunt

"When I train myself in the name of personal freedom, I'm actually not free. I'm a slave, a slave to my interests. The modern notion of freedom trains us to be selfish to become slaves to our

own self-interests." Dr. Edward Sri

Automated Contributions You Can Mail, Make Online or Automated Payments

and your family to remain safe and healthy and we’re doing everything in our power to foster a healthy parish community.

While we continue to keep you apprised of changing situations, our staff continues to work. Our teachers and students completed a full school year via our e-Learning and office work, paying bills

and keeping up with correspondence, and, yes, preparing homilies and keeping our spiritual life on track all continues, as much of

our staff works “behind the scenes”. In addition, our phenomenal custodial staff has been busy disinfecting the church and school.

Because we are still maintaining and paying staff, keeping up with building security, and maintaining & cooling our facilities, our

expenses remain constant.

If you have the means to make your continued offering contributions to St. Thomas More, you may do so by
