on’t have a Facebook account for your practice?
Just follow these easy steps to set one up today!
Go to www.facebook.com. In order to create a page for your practice, you must
have a Facebook account first. If you already have an account, you can skip down to
‘Create a Page’ under the green sign up button.
To create an account for the first time: Enter the required information:
First and last name, email, password, birth date and sex, then click the green sign up button.

ext it will prompt you to find friends, but you may simply skip this step if you wish
by clicking on skip this step. Otherwise click on the find friends links provided.
ow, you will be prompted to enter school, work and hometown information. You
may do so by filling in the blanks, or you may skip this step by clicking on the skip
link.

tep 3 will prompt you to pick your interests. You may do so by clicking on the Like
buttons, or you may skip this step by clicking on the skip link.
tep 4 will prompt you to upload or take a picture for your profile picture. Follow the
instructions or skip this step by clicking on the skip link.

t At this point you MUST go to your email inbox, find the email from
Facebook, and click on the confirm account button located within the email.
To create a Facebook page for your Practice.
f you are currently logged into your account, you may simply scroll to the bottom of
the page and click on create a page link, or click on the round settings icon located at
the top right of your page:

nce you click on create a page, you will have several different selections to
choose from. Choose the one that best suits your practice. For doctors, dentists and
surgeons, you will most likely choose to select “local business or place.”
ow you will be prompted to fill in the necessary information about your practice.
Then agree to Facebook’s terms to create the page.

nce you click on get started, you will then be asked to enter information about
your practice, like website and description.
ext you will be asked to select a profile picture for your practice. You can upload
from your computer or import from a website. You may also skip this part and do it
later.
ext you have the option to add your page to your favorites for easier access, you
may also skip.

ou will then be asked if you want to advertise to reach more people. This is a paid
option requiring payment information. You may also simply skip.
ou have now completed setting up your practice’s Facebook page. You
may now create posts on behalf of your practice. Ekwa suggests using
Facebook to inform patients about specials, post pictures and videos and share
educational information.

To create a post, simply type in the white box and click on
the blue Post button.
o post a picture/graphic or video, click on the photo/video and select from your
computer. Also you can simply enter the URL in the white text box. And don’t
forget to ask all your patients to “Like” your new practice page.
