Powerful informatics tool for cancer researchManaging, and ultimately interpreting, the signifi cant quantities of variant data produced by NGS presents a formidable challenge. Specifi cally, in oncology, the wide range of variants in tumor samples presents challenges for effi cient, accurate and thorough analysis of cancer-relevant data.

Robust, curated and validated knowledgebaseIon Torrent™ Oncomine™ Knowledgebase Reporter is a genomic analysis tool developed specifi cally for further examination of next-generation sequencing data. It delivers easy access to vital information, enabling the contextual investigation of sample-specifi c variants to understand their use in on-market oncology drugs, published evidence and current global clinical trials. This process of investigation transforms data into decisions while helping to save time and effort in cancer research and drug development.

Oncomine Knowledgebase Reporter provides two key forms of relevancy content which, depending on the strength of evidence and corresponding to the data source, can be used toward the research and development of companion diagnostics. The types of relevancy content provided include:

• Clinical consensus information provided for research is reflected from published therapies and current labeling guidelines based on genetic event status; collected from US and European sources.

• Global clinical trials with open enrollment in which genetic events are used as enrollment criteria.

Each piece of evidence is manually curated and standardized by two independent reviewers for context, categorization and concordance. The process helps ensure that the data are comparable where there are differing reporting standards from global sources (Figure 2).

Figure 2. Oncomine Knowledgebase Reporter provides global clinical trial information for 69 countries with summary information, which includes contact information for enrollment.

Easy access to important informationOncomine Knowledgebase Reporter has an easy-to-use interface with filtering options based on data source, cancer type and clinical trial location. Role-based user profiles provide the flexibility to standardize workflows for operators in laboratory environments.

These workflow templates enable streamlined access to a final report in three easy steps (Figure 1). The report is customizable with options for a logo, location, operator, and other custom fields for specific information about the sample (Figure 3).

As the incidence of cancer continues to increase worldwide, oncology researchers need more powerful tools to get the most out of the increasing availability of genomic information. Oncomine Knowledgebase Reporter combines existing genomic and clinical trial information into a powerful and useful tool to help cancer researchers learn, and apply, that knowledge to sample-specific variants.
