The psalmist wrote in Psalm 112:1-10,

1 Praise the LORD. Blessed is theman who fears the LORD, whofinds great delight in Hiscommands.2 His children will be mighty inthe land; the generation of theupright will be blessed.3 Wealth and riches are in hishouse,and his righteousness endures

4 Even in darkness light dawns for

the upright, for the gracious andcompassionate and righteous man.5 Good will come to him who is

generous and lends freely, whoconducts his affairs with justice.6 Surely he will never be shaken;

a righteous man will beremembered forever.

7 He will have no fear of badnews;

his heart is steadfast, trusting inthe LORD.8 His heart is secure, he will have

Psychiatrists call the fear of certain

things phobias . But there is one fearthat drives out all other fears, and wefind it in Psalm 112. "Praise the Lord!Blessed is the man who fears theLord, who delights greatly in Hiscommandments" (verse 1).

There are people whofear heights(acrophobia) andpeople who fearclosed-in places(claustrophobia).

There are peopleafraid of water,dogs and evenother people.

All kinds of fears are taken care of if

we fear the Lord. One is family fears."His descendants will be mighty onearth; the generation of the upright

will be blessed" (verse 2). Commityour children to Him and you won'thave to worry about their lives.

Fear of the Lord also drives outfinancial fears. "Wealth and richeswill be in his house" (verse 3).

This doesn't mean we will all bemillionaires. It means we'll alwayshave what we need. If we fear theLord, we can let go of our financialfears.

Some fear the dark. "Unto theupright there arises light in thedarkness" (verse 4). Fear Godand you'll always have lightwhen you need it. You will have

His guidance and direction.

Some fear the future and change."Surely he will never be shaken; therighteous will be in everlasting

remembrance" (verse 6). God says,"Don't be afraid of the changes that aregoing on around you or in you. I am

the God of the universe. Fear Me, andI'll take care of the changes."

Finally, some people have afear of bad news. But verse7 reads, "He will not beafraid of evil tidings; hisheart is steadfast, trusting in

the Lord." No news is bad if you're walking in the will of God.
