Gods true plan for mankind and in fact for allcreation can be realized in one Bible passage.

1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know thatye were not redeemed with corruptiblethings, as silver and gold, from your vainconversation received by tradition fromyour fathers: 19 But with the precious

From this we can see that Jesus was the trueman that God always intended. He was manifestedthough long after his ordination. He was manifestedaccording to Gods will and purpose.

Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto

Through this we see Jesus who was predestined to be our savior even before creation wasfounded. That he was manifested at a certain timeof Gods choosing. This shows it was always Gods

plan to justify us through Christ not Adam.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God andFather of our Lord Jesus Christ, whohath blessed us with all spiritualblessings in heavenly places in Christ::4

According as he hath chosen us in himbefore the foundation of the world, thatwe should be holy and without blamebefore him in love: 5 Having

predestinated us unto the adoption ofchildren by Jesus Christ to himself,according to the good pleasure of his

will,

We have in this set of biblical assurances thatthis was Gods plan all along. It was always his willthat we be adopted out of Adam and in to ChristJesus. This means that Jesus was always the manthat God intended and that Adam was only a figureof he who was to come: A forerunner. This revealsto us Gods plan and pattern in creation andrevelation. First comes the physical and then thespiritual.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by oneman sin entered into the world, anddeath by sin; and so death passed uponall men, for that all have sinned: 13 (Foruntil the law sin was in the world: but sinis not imputed when there is no law. 14Nevertheless death reigned from Adam

to Moses, even over them that had notsinned after the similitude of Adam'stransgression, who is the figure of himthat was to come.

In the same way that sin and death came into

the world through the physical man Adam, sorighteousness and eternity comes through the newman Christ.

Romans 5:18 Therefore as by theoffence of one judgment came upon allmen to condemnation; even so by the

righteousness of one the free gift cameupon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by one man's disobedience manywere made sinners, so by the obedienceof one shall many be made righteous.

Christ and Adam are in fact standards. One isa shadow or figure that testifies to the one that iseternal. One is a picture and the other is what ispictured. One is a prophecy of the other.

1 Corinthians 15:42 So also is theresurrection of the dead. It is sown incorruption; it is raised in incorruption::43It is sown in dishonour; it is raised inglory: it is sown in weakness; it is raisedin power: 44 It is sown a natural body; itis raised a spiritual body. There is anatural body, and there is a spiritual

body. 45 And so it is written, The firstman Adam was made a living soul; thelast Adam was made a quickening spirit.46 Howbeit that was not first which isspiritual, but that which is natural; andafterward that which is spiritual. 47 The

first man is of the earth, earthy; thesecond man is the Lord from heaven.:48 As is the earthy, such are they alsothat are earthy: and as is the heavenly,

such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of theearthy, we shall also bear the image of

the heavenly.

So we see a pattern here. The physical comesfirst because it testifies to what comes next. Thephysical things testify to spiritual things. Thephysical is just temporarythe picture. The spiritualis the real. The physical must pass away and thespiritual is the eternal.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God isrevealed from heaven against allungodliness and unrighteousness ofmen, who hold the truth inunrighteousness; Because that whichmay be known of God is manifest inthem; for God hath shewed it unto them.20 For the invisible things of him fromthe creation of the world are clearlyseen, being understood by the things

that are made, even his eternal powerand Godhead; so that they are withoutexcuse:

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not atthe things which are seen, but at the

things which are not seen: for the thingswhich are seen are temporal; but thethings which are not seen are eternal.

This pattern shows the truths of the spirit evenup to Gods very nature. The things that are seenare pictures of what cannot be seen. The picture is

the temporary the realty is eternal.

says Jesus is greater. All of these thingsthat John says of himself and Christ aretrue of Adam and Christ, the physical

and the spiritual.

John 3:28 Ye yourselves bear mewitness, that I said, I am not the Christ,but that I am sent before him. 29 He thathath the bride is the bridegroom: but thefriend of the bridegroom, which standethand heareth him, rejoiceth greatlybecause of the bridegroom's voice: thismy joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He mustincrease, but I must decrease. 31 Hethat cometh from above is above all: hethat is of the earth is earthly, andspeaketh of the earth: he that comethfrom heaven is above all.

Just as Adam must decrease and Christ mustincrease in us this was true of John. When thespiritual arrives on the scene then the physical

decreases. The flesh speaks as one from below andthe Spirit speaks as one from above. When Jesuscame in his ministry Johns ended. Do you see thepattern? The last will be first and the first will be last.This is true in creation and in revelation. Johnsministry was prophetic and temporary. Christs

Ministry is eternal. This is also the nature of thephysical and how it testifies to the spiritual.

Matthew 14:6 But when Herod's birthdaywas kept, the daughter of Herodiasdanced before them, and pleased

Romans 8:34 Who is he thatcondemneth? It is Christ that died, yearather, that is risen again, who is even atthe right hand of God, who also makethintercession for us.

Hebrews 7:22 By so much was Jesusmade a surety of a better testament. 23

As John and his ministry were temporary soChrists is eternal. As Johns ministry ended so mustthe first covenant so that the second covenant maybe established. As Adam the old man dies so Christthe new man endures forever. The man God alwaysintended from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things whichwe have spoken this is the sum: Wehave such an high priest, who is set onthe right hand of the throne of theMajesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of

the sanctuary, and of the truetabernacle, which the Lord pitched, andnot man. 3 For every high priest isordained to offer gifts and sacrifices:wherefore it is of necessity that this manhave somewhat also to offer.:4 For if he

were on earth, he should not be a priest,seeing that there are priests that offergifts according to the law: 5 Who serveunto the example and shadow of

Like the old man Adam, the old covenant isdone away with to make way for the new. One wasa shadow and the second is the reality.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our oldman is crucified with him, that the bodyof sin might be destroyed, thathenceforth we should not serve sin.:7

For he that is dead is freed from sin.:8Now if we be dead with Christ, webelieve that we shall also live with him::9Knowing that Christ being raised fromthe dead dieth no more; death hath nomore dominion over him. 10 For in that

he died, he died unto sin once: but inthat he liveth, he liveth unto God.

The pattern is more than a little apparent. Thisshows Gods will and his purpose from thebeginning: Before the foundations of the world.

Section 3: Ephesians 1

To address the true biblical study ofpredestination and Gods true sovereign plan theChapters of Romans 9 and Ephesians 1 from Paulsepistles show the truth plainly. Through these wecan follow a clear scriptural concept that showsmankinds true predestination was to be adopted

out of Adam and into Christ. This was always Godsplan for us. Adam was a forerunner, a transitionfrom one form to another. This transition takes usfrom temporary to eternal , from prophesy tofulfillment of prophecy, from physical to spiritual.

Ephesians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of JesusChrist by the will of God, to the saintswhich are at Ephesus, and to the faithfulin Christ Jesus: 2 Grace be to you, andpeace, from God our Father, and fromthe Lord Jesus Christ.:3 Blessed be theGod and Father of our Lord Jesus

Christ, who hath blessed us with allspiritual blessings in heavenly places inChrist: 4 According as he hath chosenus in him before the foundation of theworld, that we should be holy andwithout blame before him in love 5

Having predestinated us unto theadoption of children by Jesus Christ tohimself, according to the good pleasureof his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of

his grace, wherein he hath made usaccepted in the beloved.

The above passage of scripture makes clearthat you as an individual were not chosen from thefoundation of the world but rather that we (mankind) were chosen in Christ from the worldsfoundation to he held holy and blameless throughChrist! In other words we were always meant to be

justified in Christ not Adam! Our predestination asthe descendants of Adam were not ever meant toremain physical, but to become spiritual through the

justification of Christs sacrifice. We were to beadopted in the fullness of time out of Adam and intoChrist through his sacrifice. The we become thoseof us who are Christians because we are the onesof mankind who accept and receive and believe inthe sacrifice of Jesus the Christ.

John 1:12 But as many as received him,to them gave he power to become thesons of God, even to them that believe

on his name:

That power is the earnest of the Spirit, adeposit of Gods Spirit if you will; the promised HolySpirit. As Ephesians 1 tells us.

Ephesians 1:7 In whom we haveredemption through his blood, theforgiveness of sins, according to theriches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath

abounded toward us in all wisdom andprudence; 9 Having made known untous the mystery of his will, according to

his good pleasure which he hathpurposed in himself: 10 That in thedispensation of the fulness of times hemight gather together in one all things inChrist, both which are in heaven, andwhich are on earth; even in him: 11 Inwhom also we have obtained aninheritance, being predestinatedaccording to the purpose of him whoworketh all things after the counsel ofhis own will: 12 That we should be to thepraise of his glory, who first trusted inChrist. 13 In whom ye also trusted, afterthat ye heard the word of truth, thegospel of your salvation: in whom alsoafter that ye believed, ye were sealedwith that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of our inheritanceuntil the redemption of the purchased

possession, unto the praise of his glory.

This is the mystery of his will now revealed inChrist Jesus his son; revealed in the fullness ofGods time and plan. The physical Adam is a sign ora figure of he that was to come. Jesus , the man of

the spirit was always the man God intended. Thetransition of Jesus through the resurrection from thelikeness of sinful flesh to the Glory of his

resurrected state shows Gods plan for mankindclearly and plainly.

This is the mystery of his will revealed to us..God had set a time for Jesus to come to die andso redeem us, to adopt us out of Adam and intoChrist by his sacrifice. This was the truepredestination of mankind from the foundation of theworld.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell uponthe earth shall worship him, whosenames are not written in the book of lifeof the Lamb slain from the foundation ofthe world.

Now that Jesus has come and sacrificedhimself to redeem us, to adopt us Gods plan fromthe beginning is revealed through him. As we havewalked in the nature of Adam now we must betransformed to the image of the resurrected Christ.

It is a clear truth. It was always Gods plan toadopt mankind in to Christ. Adam was only a figure

or prophesy of he who was to come. You as anindividual were not predestined. We werepredestined as mankind to be adopted into Christthrough his sacrifice. So it is only we of mankindwho receive him and believe in his name that aregiven this choice.

Romans 5:14 Nevertheless deathreigned from Adam to Moses, even overthem that had not sinned after the

similitude of Adam's transgression, whois the figure of him that was to come

John 1:11 He came unto his own, andhis own received him not. John 1:12 Butas many as received him, to them gavehe power to become the sons of God,even to them that believe on his name:John 1:13 Which were born, not ofblood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor ofthe will of man, but of God. John 1:14And the Word was made flesh, anddwelt among us, (and we beheld hisglory, the glory as of the only begottenof the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Matthew 10:32 Whosoever thereforeshall confess me before men, him will Iconfess also before my Father which isin heaven. 33 But whosoever shall denyme before men, him will I also denybefore my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall dothe will of my Father which is in heaven,the same is my brother, and sister, andmother.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world,that he gave his only begotten Son, thatwhosoever believeth in him should notperish, but have everlasting life.

It is easy to see from the above verses that

any of mankind who believes in Christ can be

adopted into his predestination of eternal life. Youare given the power to choose through Jesussacrifice. So when were the Ephesians included inthis predestination? From the foundation of theworld? No! Rather when they received him andbelieved in his name

Ehesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted,after that ye heard the word of truth, thegospel of your salvation: in whom alsoafter that ye believed, ye were sealedwith that holy Spirit of promise, 14Which is the earnest of our inheritanceuntil the redemption of the purchasedpossession, unto the praise of his glory.

Section 4: Romans 9

In this section we will deal directly with Godspurpose in election and discover that his purposeaccording to the spirit is displayed in the physical.The true however is the spiritual in all things. Thistruth between shadow and reality is no where better

revealed than between Israel according the fleshand Israel according to the spirit.

Romans 9:6 Not as though the word ofGod hath taken none effect. For theyare not all Israel, which are of Israel::7Neither, because they are the seed ofAbraham, are they all children: but, InIsaac shall thy seed be called.:8 That is,They which are the children of the flesh,these are not the children of God: butthe children of the promise are countedfor the seed. 9 For this is the word of

promise, At this time will I come, andSarah shall have a son.

The point Paul is making here is that justbecause the physical people, that is Israelaccording to the flesh rejected Christ does not mean

that Gods word to them had failed because the truepeople of the true Israel are the ones who enter inthrough faith according to the spirit not fleshlyclaims to be Abrahams descendants. In Isaac

means according to the child of promise or in otherwords the child that came from God keeping hispromise. Not the fact that Isaac was Abrahams

physical son. If Israel was counted throughAbrahams fleshly seed then Ishmael would havebeen how Israel was counted because he was thefirstborn of Abrahams loins. No the seed to which isreferred here is Christ Jesus. Isaac was only afigure of him as one who came second but wascounted as first. One that only God could produceapart from fleshly effort or work or human desire.

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and hisseed were the promises made. He saithnot, And to seeds, as of many; but as ofone, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

So the true children and heirs of Abraham arethose who enter into Gods favor through faith inChrist. Those are born of imperishable seedtheseed who is Christ and Lord.

Galatians 3:22 But the scripture hathconcluded all under sin, that the promiseby faith of Jesus Christ might be givento them that believe.

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the

children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Sarah is a picture of the spiritual and beforeChrist was born mankind was barren according to

the spiritual. He could only produce fleshly Children.Hagar, Ishmaels mother could produce accordingto the flesh while Sarah was barren. But in Gods

plan more are the children of the barren than thoseof the married wife.

Galatians 4:22 For it is written, thatAbraham had two sons, the one by abondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23But he who was of the bondwoman wasborn after the flesh; but he of thefreewoman was by promise. 24 Whichthings are an allegory: for these are thetwo covenants; the one from the mountSinai, which gendereth to bondage,which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mountSinai in Arabia, and answereth toJerusalem which now is, and is inbondage with her children. 26 ButJerusalem which is above is free, whichis the mother of us all.:27 For it iswritten, Rejoice, thou barren that

bearest not; break forth and cry, thouthat travailest not: for the desolate hathmany more children than she which hathan husband.

The above verses reveal that Sarah pictures

Jerusalem according to the spirit and Hagar isJerusalem according to flesh. The fleshly childrenare in bondage to the law and so sin, but thespiritual children are above and free. All men were

of flesh and sold to the slavery of sin until Christwas sent. This shows the difference between theold and new covenants. Once the spiritual was

barren but now through Gods promise at theappointed time she has bore children. The first ofthose children of the Spirit is Christ who isrepresented by Isaac. Now it is clear what Paul wassaying in Romans 9:9

Romans 9:9 For this is the word ofpromise, At this time will I come, andSarah shall have a son.

That son was Jesus and he came by Godspromise. He was fore ordained before the worldsfoundation but was manifested at the proper time ofGods choosing. So we see that the promise ofIsaac to Abraham was the promise of Christ. This iswhy we must be born again according to the spirit toenter into Gods kingdom through Issac, notIshmael: through the spirit not the flesh.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said untohim, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,Except a man be born again, he cannotsee the kingdom of God.

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh

is flesh; and that which is born of theSpirit is spirit. John 3:7 Marvel not that Isaid unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Romans 9:10 And not only this; butwhen Rebecca also had conceived byone, even by our father Isaac; Romans

9:11 (For the children being not yetborn, neither having done any good orevil, that the purpose of God accordingto election might stand, not of works, butof him that calleth;) Romans 9:12 It wassaid unto her, The elder shall serve theyounger. Romans 9:13 As it is written,Jacob have I loved, but Esau have Ihated.

Jacob and Esau tell the story of Godspurpose in election in the same way. Esau was firstbut became last. Jacob was last but became first.Esau pictures the flesh man and Jacob the spirit.The flesh is rejected and the spirit accepted. Jacobended up with both the birth right and the blessing.Esau lost it all to be replaced as first by his brother.Esau pictures self sufficient flesh and Jacobpictures the dependant spirit. It was not only a fact

physicaly that the people of Israel did rule overEdom (Esau), but also that is true spiritually. Thespirit rules over the flesh and is stronger than theflesh in Gods kingdom and in his purpose inelection. God saying Jacob have I loved and Esauhave I hated is not just about the physical men but

what these men represent. God loves the spirit andhates the works of the flesh. Gods purpose inelection is and always has been according to thespirit.

John 4:23 But the hour cometh, andnow is, when the true worshippers shall

worship the Father in spirit and in truth:for the Father seeketh such to worshiphim.

Do you see the pattern? First comes thephysical and then the spiritual. The physical isrejected but the spiritual is accepted. The physical isredeemed at the last. The last will be first and thefirst will be last. This is the pattern because it isGods purpose in election.

Romans 9:14 What shall we say then?Is there unrighteousness with God? Godforbid. 15 For he saith to Moses, I willhave mercy on whom I will have mercy,and I will have compassion on whom Iwill have compassion. 16 So then it isnot of him that willeth, nor of him thatrunneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

It is not just arbitrary on Gods part to chooseone man over another. He has had his purposesince before the creation. These men represent hispurpose in election. He has compassion accordingto Jesus, the new man. He is the man God sought

to produce. One who could worship in the spirit andin truth. Adam was never that man. He was only atransition, a figure and forerunner of that man. Thepicture is meant to pass away, but the real is

eternal. So Gods mercy is according to the spiritand Christ, not the flesh and Adam. The physicalmust pass away.

Romans 9:17 For the scripture saithunto Pharaoh, Even for this samepurpose have I raised thee up, that Imight shew my power in thee, and thatmy name might be declared throughoutall the earth. 18 Therefore hath hemercy on whom he will have mercy, andwhom he will he hardeneth. 19 Thou wiltsay then unto me, Why doth he yet findfault? For who hath resisted his will? 20Nay but, O man, who art thou thatrepliest against God? Shall the thingformed say to him that formed it, Whyhast thou made me thus?:21 Hath notthe potter power over the clay, of thesame lump to make one vessel untohonour, and another unto dishonour? 22What if God, willing to shew his wrath,

and to make his power known, enduredwith much longsuffering the vessels ofwrath fitted to destruction: 23 And thathe might make known the riches of hisglory on the vessels of mercy, which hehad afore prepared unto glory,:24 Even

us, whom he hath called, not of theJews only, but also of the Gentiles?

God demonstrated his plan and his powerthrough the physical but it is only to reveal thespiritual. Now the question is are we going to

question Gods methods? This is and was Godschosen method of creation and who can question it?It is a fact that the physical is an object of wrath andthe flesh a vessel of dishonor (Adams corrupt body).It is a fact that the spirit is an object of mercy and avessel of honer (Jesuss resurrected body). Andthink about ithasnt God demonstrated his will, hisplan and his power through both? Amen!
