One rainy afternoon, while looking for Paddy’s Market (a huge shopping area for everything from food to
tourist items), we “stumbled” onto Chinatown.
A crowded street with folks eating under awnings to
get out of the drizzle.
Typical Chinese retail store full of
stuff to buy.
It was Chinese New Year while we were there. This band of Chinese were going
around to wish businesses good luck.
Men dressed as a dragon would dance and enter a store as drummers pounded out an
interesting rhythm.
Red and black are traditional colors and the dancing dragon is the way luck is wished on a store owner.
With plastic to protect the drum from rain, a Chinese man bangs
away loudly.
To get out of the rain, we stopped at an
interesting bar not far from Chinatown.
A stage in the bar was for weekly
entertainers to use.
A crowded but interesting
bar.
Typical Irish Pub. After a beer, we headed on to other things.
