Holy Laughter:The Last Laugh

Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began; love divine is reigning o’er us,

binding all within its span. Ever singing, march we onward,

victors in the midst of strife; joyful music leads us sunward,

in the triumph song of life.

+ Opening Prayer

one: The Lord be with you.all: And also with you.

one: Let us pray. all: Almighty God,

through your only Son you overcame death

and opened to us the gate of everlasting life.

Grant that we who celebrate our Lord’s resurrection,

by the renewing of your Spirit, arise from the death of sin to the

life of righteousness;through the same Jesus Christ our

Lord. Amen.

Peace of Christ

Scripture Reading I Corinthians 15:51-58 (CEB)

Listen, I’m telling you a secret: All of us won’t die, but we will all be changed— in an instant,

in the blink of an eye, at the final trumpet. The trumpet will blast, and the dead will be raised with bodies that won’t decay, and we

will be changed. It’s necessary for this rotting body to be clothed with what can’t decay, and for the body that is dying to be clothed in what

can’t die. And when the rotting body has been clothed in what can’t

decay, and the dying body has been clothed in what can’t die, then this statement in scripture will happen:

Death has been swallowed up by a victory. Where is your

victory, Death?

Where is your sting, Death?

(Death’s sting is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.) Thanks

be to God, who gives us this victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! As a result of all this, my loved

brothers and sisters, you must stand firm, unshakable, excelling in the

work of the Lord as always, because you know that your labor isn’t going

to be for nothing in the Lord.

Act of PraiseSing Unto the Lord

Linda Spevacek Sanctuary Choir

and about His love and glory,

He is the King of eternity,He is the Ruler of all destiny,

He made the wonders of creation in perfect unity.

He is the King of eternity,He is the Ruler of all destiny,

He made the wonders of creation in perfect unity.

Sing to the Lord, give all glory to Him,

+ Gospel LessonMatthew 28:1-10 (CEB)

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week,

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the tomb.

Look, there was a great earthquake, for an angel from the Lord came

down from heaven. Coming to the stone, he rolled it away and sat on it. Now his face was like lightning and

his clothes as white as snow. The guards were so terrified of him that they shook with fear and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I

know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He isn’t here, because he’s been raised from the

dead, just as he said. Come, see the place where they laid him. Now hurry, go and tell his disciples,

‘He’s been raised from the dead. He’s going on ahead of you to

Galilee. You will see him there.’ I’ve given the message to you.”

With great fear and excitement, they hurried away from the tomb and ran to tell his disciples. But

Jesus met them and greeted them. They came and grabbed his feet and

worshipped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go and

tell my brothers that I am going into Galilee. They will see me there.”

+ Sending HymnEaster People Raise Your Voices

UMH 304

Easter people, raise your voices, sounds of heaven in earth

should ring. Christ has brought us heaven’s choices; heavenly music,

let it ring. Alleluia! Alleluia! Easter people, let us sing.

Fear of death can no more stop us from our pressing here below. For our Lord empowered us to

triumph over every foe. Alleluia! Alleluia! On to victory now we go.
