Online Exam Web Interface User Help guidance for Online Examination –September 2020

ONLINE EXAM WEB PORTAL USAGE AND

NAVIGATION HELP INSTRUCTIONS &

GUIDELINES FOR

ONLINE EXAMINATIONS, SEPTEMBER 2020



PRELIMINARY

The Students should read the instructions and guidelines provided

by the University thoroughly and understand them

In addition the user help guidelines provided here in also be read

The students should down load the Cover / First page format posted

in the University website

The Student should prepare blank answer booklet with the Cover

page/First page and keep it ready –one set for the Mock Test and

remaining sets for the subject paper for which the exams are going to

be written

At the prescribed time the student should login to the university

website and click the menu ‘Online Exam September 2020’ to go to

the login page of the relevant online web portal



LOGIN TO ONLINE WEB PORTAL –STEP 1

On selecting online exam menu in the university website, the below interface will appear

The student should enter his/her Registration No.

The student should enter his/her Date of Birth from the date picker provided

THEN

THEN CLICK THE LOGIN BUTTON TO GO TO THE NEXT STEP

If entered Registration No. is incorrect or DOB is wrong, the interface will not allow the login.

Please check the Register Number is correctly entered or not. With regards to the DOB if it is

not matching contact the Coordinator for help.



SUCCESS LOGIN – STEP 2

On successful login the students will be shown below screen, which will display the candidate

details and contain two buttons- ‘Question Paper Download’ and ‘Answer Booklet Upload’

The student should first

check his/her details are

correctly displayed and

satisfy

If details are found correct, he student should click Question Paper Download button to get

his/her question paper

FOR QUESTION DOWNLOAD THIS BUTTON SHOULD NOT BE CLICKED

For login by certain passed out old students and/or readmitted students or not registered

candidate, a different screen will be displayed, where he/she will get registered and then

allowed to select his / her relevant subject paper amongst the different subject code & title,

shown and proceed to download the question paper accordingly

IMPORTANT

If the detail shown is not matching to the student, he/she should logout by clicking the button



QUESTION PAPER DOWNLOAD – STEP 3

On clicking the ‘Question Paper Download’ button as explained in the previous slide, the relevant

student will be displayed with the below screen which will contain the details of the subject code

& title for which exam to be given by him/her on that date & session along with download button

On enabling the Question Paper Download timings a button will appear in the arrow shown place.

The student should click the button and get his/her question paper to save

WRITING THE EXAM –STEP 4

The Students should write the exam in the answer booklet as earlier

advised with its cover page format duly filled in and signed.

One side only should be used for the writing in blue or black ink.

(This is now suggested for better out put of the scanned copy )

The booklet should be duly page numbered.

In all the page on the top the student should write his/her

registration No.



CREATING PDF OF THE ANSWER SCRIPT -STEP 5

After completing the exam, arrange the papers of the answer scripts

according to page number wise with the coversheet as the first sheet.

Then using any app preferable Adobe PDF creator or scanner, do

the scanning of all pages in the order and create a PDF file.

Students may visit the relevant link of the Adobe and view the demo

in YouTube as to how the PDF is to be created

The PDF file thus created to be kept in your system for uploading



At this time the student should click Answer Booklet Upload button to upload his/her

answer script in PDF

LOGIN TO UPLOAD ANSWERSCRIPT PDF – STEP 6

The student again visit the online web portal and login as explained earlier. On successful login

the below screen will be again displayed.



ANSWER BOOKLET UPLOAD – STEP 7

On clicking the ‘Answer Booklet Upload’ button as explained in the previous slide, the student

will be displayed with the below screen

The student should keep the relevant PDF in proper location in the system and select to

upload. By mistake should not upload any other PDF or PDF of Mock exam

The student should click the Choose File button. On doing so a dialogue box will appear and the

correct PDF file of the relevant answer script should be selected to upload

SUMBISSION ON UPLOAD – STEP 8

Once the chosen PDF file is successfully uploaded, the below screen will still be available active

The student should check the declaration

On checking the declaration the upload button will become active and the

student click the same to complete the upload transaction

The student should wait for chosen file to upload and need not become panicky if it takes

few minutes

SUCCESS UPLOAD & SUMMARY – STEP 9

On successful uploading the students will be shown below screen providing the summary details

The student can take out a print/down load of the above summary for his/her record. With this the

online exam for that paper is successfully done.

The student may note that as the online exams are done successfully, all the subjects for

which exam given will be added day by day to the summary sheet.

MOCK EXAM

For Mock Exam also the same will be steps

applicable. Attending the mock exam the students

can get the navigational feel / knowledge of the

online web portal before giving the actual exam

The student may note that the server break time will be as below on every day to enable

data updating and self tuning by the server for robust performance

IMPORTANT

2.00 PM to 2.15 PM

3.15 PM to 3.30 PM

ALTHOUGH SERVER BREAK TIMINGS OF 15 MINUTES AS ABOVE BUT

THE SERVER MAY RESUME SHORTER THAN THE BREAK DURATION

4.30 PM to 4.45 PM

THE STUDENTS WILL GET EXTRA TIME OF THE ABOVE 15 MINUTES EACH IN

THEIR RESPECTIVE SESSION OF WRITING OR UPLOADING TIME LIMIT



GENERAL

The student may note that due to some slowness of the internet in your location the

display of interface may take a little while and need not get panicky and it will be available.

Don’t press buttons repeatedly if action takes few seconds. Click once and wait to

complete the transactions successfully.

Ensure that the PDF is correctly created by viewing it before hand to login for upload

Load the correct PDF. So for every day keep only that PDF file in the specific location and

not in group of earlier loaded or mock exam PDF

Those students who get invalid Register Number notification must check it has been

entered correctly or not

If there is a mismatch of Date of Birth to that of the registered one, cannot login and the

student can contact the Coordinator for help

In some cases if relevant question paper not available for download and the interface

says contact coordinator, those students need not panic but contact the coordinator
