In order to have awareness about scientific writing among the post graduate students of
department, an online guest lecture was organised on 25.04.2020. Professor Ramesh L
Gardas from Department of Chemistry, IIT Madras gave a very interactive lecture on
"Tips on Scientific Writing: Research Project Report and Publications". This lecture was
hosted through licenced Zoom platform. There were more than 150 students and all the
staff members to attend this lecture. Prof Gardas gave very detail presentation about
the writing of PG project reports as well as dissertation thesis. He also explained in
detail about the various key points to keep in knowledge for writing the research
publications. There were many questions asked by students as well as faculty members
regarding the topic and prof. Gardas answered almost all the questions. Prof Gardas
also discussed about the possibilities of collaborative research with his group. He also
talks about the summer internship at IIT Madras for the post graduate students. Overall
it was excellent learning class given by Prof Gardas.
