RESTAURAREA MOBILEI – UN DEMERS ASUMAT

PENTRU VALOARE ŞI TRADIłIE FURNITURE RESTORATION – AN ACTION

ASSUMED FOR VALUE AND TRADITION Organizarea expoziŃiilor anuale de restaurare,

cuprinzând realizările practice ale studenŃilor din anul IV IPFL şi anii I, II- Master EDMR – traseu Conservare - Restaurare Mobilier a devenit o tradiŃie a FacultăŃii de Ingineria Lemnului. ExpoziŃia din acest an, intitulată “Restaurarea mobilei – un demers asumat pentru valoare şi tradiŃie”, vernisată în 30 mai 2012 în Holul L al facultăŃii, reprezintă a-VII-a ediŃie, şi poate fi vizitată până în 5 iulie 2012. Acest vernisaj, onorat de un număr record de participanŃi (circa 100 de persoane), între care s-au numărat, alături de studenŃi, masteranzi, cadre didactice şi personal tehnic din facultate şi universitate, şi specialişti conservatori-restauratori acreditaŃi de Ministerul Culturii, reprezentând Complexul NaŃional Muzeal ASTRA – Sibiu, Muzeul Casa Mureşenilor şi Muzeul de Etnografie din Braşov, precum şi un grup de elevi de la Şcoala Generală 12 din Braşov, a reprezentat, ca în fiecare an, un moment de sărbătoare şi bucurie. Este bucuria reuşitei într-un demers complex, deopotrivă ştiinŃă şi artă, prin care cu efort, răbdare şi pasiune se poate reda frumuseŃea şi farmecul unor obiecte vechi din lemn şi prelungi viaŃa acestora, pentru păstrare ca mărturie în timp a unor meşteşuguri, tradiŃii, informaŃii tehnice şi istorice.

Printre exponatele deosebite din acest an putem aminti: un scaun Arhieresc, datat 1838, de la Schitul Berislăveşti – Vâlcea (restauratori: Valentin Buda, Robert Ciupala - anul IV IPFL); birou avocatura, de început de secol XX, din zona Argeş, (restauratori: Celia Chiru - anul II Master EDMR în colaborare cu Petre Şerban, Iulia Leancu - anul IV IPFL), un scaun stil ALTDEUTSCH cu tapiŃerie din piele (restaurator Natalia Talmazan - anul II Master EDMR), un scaun stil Neo-Renaştere cu tapiŃerie din piele, datat aproximativ 1900 (restaurator Levente Benko - anul IV IPFL), un felinar din lemn din VlăhiŃa - jud, Covasna (restaurator Joszef Kedves - anul IV IPFL), precum şi o cutie de bijuterii sculptată cu elemente florale de o frumuseŃe deosebită (restaurator Cătălin Sora - anul IV IPFL).

MulŃumim tuturor celor ce au contribuit cu dăruire şi profesionalism la realizarea expoziŃiei, precum şi celor ce ne-au onorat prin prezenŃă, lansând în avans invitaŃia pentru ediŃia a VIII-a din 2013!

Organisation of the annual restoration

exhibitions, comprising the practical restoration projects of the students from year IV IPFL (licence studies) and years I, II EDMR – Conservation and Restoration of Furniture (master studies) has become a tradition within the Faculty of Wood Engineering. The current exhibition, entitled “Furniture restoration – an action assumed for value and tradition”, opened in 30 Mai 2012 in the Main Hall L of the faculty, represents the 7th edition and may be visited until the 5th of July. This opening ceremony, honoured by a record number of participants (around 100 people), among which, besides students, teaching and technical staff from the faculty and university, there were conservators and restorers authorised by the Ministry of Culture from the National Museum Complex ASTRA – Sibiu, the Museum Casa Mureşenilor and the Ethnographical Museum from Brașov, as well as a group of scholars, represented, as every year, a moment of feast and joy. It is the joy of success in a complex action, both science and art, made with effort, patience and passion to render back to old wooden objects their beauty and charm and to extend their life to be preserved in time as a proof of old crafts, traditions and support of technical and historical information.

Among the very special exhibits from this year there are a Bishop's throne, dated 1838, from the Berislăveşti Hermitage – Vâlcea (restorers: Valentin Buda, Robert Ciupala - year IV IPFL); an attorney desk, dated at the beginning of 20th Century, from Argeş region (restored by Celia Chiru - year II Master EDMR in cooperation with Petre Şerban, Iulia Leancu - year IV IPFL), an ALTDEUTSCH chair with leather upholstery (restorer Natalia Talmazan - year II Master EDMR), a Neo-Renaissance chair with leather upholstery, dated approximately 1900 (restorer Levente Benko - year IV IPFL), a wooden street lamp from VlăhiŃa village – Covasna county (restorer Joszef Kedves - year IV IPFL), as well as a sculptured jewellery box with floral ornaments of exquisite beauty (restorer Cătălin Sora - year IV IPFL).

Thanks to all those who contributed with devotion and in a professional way to this exhibition, as well as to those who honoured us by their presence, launching in advance the invitation to participate in the 8th edition in 2013!

ExpoziŃia din acest a inclus şi o primă

expunere a unor obiecte restaurate în cadrul AcŃiunii PODUL – Die Brücke, prezentată în continuare.

AcŃiunea PODUL – Die Brücke, desfăşurată sub sintagma “De la abandon la valoare”, reprezintă o acŃiune complexă, demarată pe bază de voluntariat în Facultatea de Ingineria lemnului, ca un demers civic pentru conştientizarea importanŃei conservării moştenirii culturale. Valorile culturale vizate nu au reprezentat bunuri cu valoare istorică şi artistică deosebită recunoscută aflate în colecŃiile muzeelor, ci obiecte vechi (din lemn) dintr-o gospodărie săsească, ce reflectă modul de viaŃă de fiecare zi și evenimentele deosebite, meştesugurile şi tradiŃiile, tehnica şi modul de prelucrare a unor resurse naturale etc. Trecerea timpului şi-a pus patina inconfundabilă, ce conferă acestor obiecte un spor de frumuseŃe şi farmec, dar tot timpul înseamnă degradare, uitare sau abandon, şi toate acestea pot duce la pierderea iremediabilă a unor valori culturale şi informaŃii istorice.

Obiectivele acŃiunii gravitează în jurul celor 2 cuvinte cheie ce o definesc: podul – ca spaŃiu în care se pot regăsi multe obiecte abandonate şi die Brücke – cu semnificaŃia de pod ca punte de legătură (limba germană). Concret acŃiunea a vizat: recuperarea, identificarea, conservarea-resturarea unor bunuri culturale abandonate în podul unei case săseşti din zona Feldioara, realizarea unui pod peste timp prin reconstituirea „dotării tehnice” şi atmosferei specifice prin expunerea obiectelor restaurate, definindu-se ca o punte între abandon şi valoare. also a first presentation of some objects restored within the action The Attic - Die Brücke.

The action The Attic - Die Brücke, carried on under the motto “From abandonment to value”, represents a complex, voluntary action, started within the Faculty of Wood Engineering, as a civic measure of awareness on the importance of cultural heritage conservation. The cultural values considered within this action were not objects of special, recognised historic and artistic value, belonging to museums collections, but old (wooden) objects from a Saxon household, objects reflecting the every day life style and the special events, the crafts and traditions, the old technique and manner of processing of some natural resources and so on. The passing of time put its specific patina, which confers to these objects an extra beauty and charm, but the passing time means also degradation, oblivion or abandonment, and all these may lead to an irremediable loss of cultural values and historical information.

The objectives of the action gravitate around the two key words defining the action: the attic – as a space where can be found many abandoned objects and die Brücke – with the significance of bridge as a connection element (from German). This action envisaged the recuperation, identification and conservation-restoration of some cultural objects abandoned in the attic of Saxon house from Feldioara region, building a bridge over time by reconstituting the „technical endower” and specific atmosphere by exhibiting the restored objects, thus defining itself as bridge between abandonment and

instituŃii prin valorizarea bunurilor culturale mobile restaurate într-o expoziŃie de restaurare în PODUL unei instituŃii de cultură din Braşov şi posibilă donaŃie de obiecte către Muzeul de Etnografie Braşov. Într-o primă etapă, expoziŃia PODUL - Die Brücke, a fost realizată şi poate fi vizitată în Holul L al facultăŃii de Ingineria Lemnului.

Nu în ultimul rând, această acŃiune s-a dovedit a fi o punte interumană prin participarea, entuziastă, pe bază de voluntariat, a unor specialişti cu formaŃie profesională diferită şi studenŃi ai facultăŃii din toŃi anii de studiu, de la anul I licenŃă la anul II masterat.

O componentă a acŃiunii, în continuarea sa, va fi centrată pe ideea TradiŃional vs. Modern – o relaŃie reversibilă în designul de produs, respectiv înŃelegerea evoluŃiei în timp a anumitor tipuri de produse şi recuperarea / valorificarea unor idei / soluŃii interesante pentru noi produse. Invităm şi aşteptăm cât mai mulŃI noi voluntari!

This action is meant to be also a bridge between institutions by putting in value the restored objects in the attic of a cultural institution from Braşov and possible donation of objects to the Ethnographical Museum from Braşov. In a first stage, the exhibition The ATTIC - Die Brücke, has been set and can be visited in the main Hall L of the Faculty of Wood Engineering.

Not at last, this action proved to be a bridge between people due to the voluntary, enthusiastic involvement of some specialists with different professional backgrounds and students of our faculty from all the studying years and levels: from year I - licence studies to year II – master studies.

A following part of this action will focus on the idea Traditional vs. Modern – a reversible relation in products design, respectively understanding the in-time evolution of some types of products and recuperation /valorisation of some interesting ideas / solutions for new products. We are inviting and waiting for new volunteers!
