Academic Preparation

Students with undergraduate preparation in a non-business field may be required to complete up to 24 credits of prerequisite coursework. International students with an undergraduate degree that was taught in a language other than English will be required to complete an additional prerequisite course in business communication. Students with a strong academic record from an accredited business college may be able to waive equivalent prerequisite foundation courses.

Prerequisite courses include: Accounting, Business Communication (required for international students), Business Law & Ethics, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Marketing, Management, and Statistics.

Program CharacteristicsThe online MBA degree is a 30-credit program consisting of 10 courses including core business foundation classes, in-depth management courses, and capstone courses that integrate each student’s learning in practical situations. UB’s unique blend of management, entrepreneurship and international classes was created to teach a wide variety of skills that translate to any industry or field of endeavor.

Courses are offered year-round on a convenient schedule of five, eight-week sessions with breaks between each session. Students can expect regular interaction online with classmates and professors— as well as access to the UB campus if needed.
