Vocational-cum-Academic Integrated Program in “Construction Supervision (Civil)”

Session 2014 – 2015

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), established by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India and Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), established by the Planning Commission, Govt. of India, with its countrywide network of training centres, now provides the opportunity for all persons working or otherwise engaged elsewhere to acquire skills in Construction Trades and Allied Courses which will provide gainful opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship. CIDC jointly with NIOS is offering the following course through Open learning mode. Such candidates may simultaneously join 12th Class academic courses with NIOS: Course : Construction Supervision (Civil) Duration : Min. 6 months/ Max. 5 years (Theory classes- 60 hrs & Practical-240 hrs) Min. Qualification : 10th Pass Min. Age : 18 years Fees : Rs.12,500/- Prospectus & Form : Rs.50/- Admission Last date for receipt of completed applications: 30th June, 2014 Course commencement : 1st July, 2014 Students can give their exam once every six months as per schedule laid down by NIOS. 9 chances are given in 5 years to clear the course.

Fees can be paid by way of demand draft of Rs.12,550/- favouring “Construction Industry Development Council ” payable at New Delhi.

Admission form along with the fees can be submitted at CIDC Centres before the closing date.

CIDC – Activities CIDC has signed an MoU with Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN),

CIDC has signed an MoU with Indian Railways Institute of Civil Engineering (IRICEN), Pune for Skill up-gradation Program for their departmental artisan staff of Engineering department through five railway zones.

CIDC- Training activities

Under CIDC-RECL training centre in Shivpuri (MP), 521 candidates have completed their training and 361 candidates have been placed in different construction companies. In latest work-order of 200 candidates, 140 candidates have completed their training and 102 candidates have been placed. Last batch of 60 candidates are under training.

Under CIDC-PFCL Phase-II training program, 848 candidates have completed their training and 403 have been placed in different construction companies. At present 175 candidates are under training at different training centres.

Under CIDC-NSFDC Program 78 candidates of Bihar and Jharkhand are getting training at CIDC Training centre, Gorakhpur. Batch commenced on 11th January, 2014.

Under CIDC-HUDCO Training program, batch of 60 candidates was inaugurated by Minister of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Dr. (Ms.) Girija Vyas at Pratapgarh (Rajasthan) on 24th Feb, 2014.

Under CIDC-HUDCO Training program, batch of 65 candidates are getting training at CIDC Training centre at Ghaziabad for the candidates of Raghunathganj (Murshidabad) West Bengal.

Under CIDC-OIL Training program, 156 candidates of Tinsukia Assam are getting training at CIDC Training centre at Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Sidhauli (Sitapur), Ramshapur and CIDC VKP Faridabad candidates.

Under CIDC-EPIL training Program, 100 candidates were provided skill development program at EPIL site Rajgir, Bihar.

Under TNSDM training program, 576 candidates have been trained and another 1130 candidates are under training. CIDC-TNSDM also inaugurated training program at Tanjore on 20th January, 2014 for training of another 1000 candidates.

CIDC – Activities Cultural Program in the Gorakhpur centre:

A grand cultural program was organised by OIL trainees in Gorakhpur centre on 3rd Feb 2014. The trainees from Assam presented songs, dances and other local performances. The trainees sung the songs written by Bhupen Hazarika marvellously. The trainees performed the group dances and enjoyed a lot. Gorakhpur centre was looking like a village of Assam celebrating a function of joy and happiness.

Medical Health Checkup and Camp Organised by Gorakhpur Centre:

A medical health checkup camp was organised by Gorakhpur centre on 3rd Feb 2014 in the campus of CIDC training centre. Dr Prashant Mishra, MBBS, MD with Dr Gaurav Kaushal, MBBS leaded the medical team. The team examined the trainees and staff of centre and provided the medical aid. The local outside people also took the benefit of the camp. The basic medicines were distributed to the financially challenged people. grand cultural program was organised by OIL trainees in Gorakhpur centre on 3rd Feb 2014.

Celebration of Basant Panchami in Gorakhpur centre:

The festival of Basant Panchami was celebreted on 4th Feb 2014 in the campus of Gorakhpur training centre. Trainees and staff organised a very special Saraswati puja on the day. Pt Ajay Tiwari performed the all rituals of puja. The program was started with Saraswati vandana and completed with distribution of prasad.

CIDC – Activities Director General, CIDC inaugurated CIDC programs in VIET, Gorakhpur:

Dr P R Swarup, Director General, CIDC inaugurated training programs in Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gorakhpur on 26th Feb 2014 in a grand program organised in the campus of VIET, Gorakhpur. The engineering and management students of several engineering/ management institutes were present in the program. Sh Shashi Bhusan, Chairman, VIET after welcoming DG, introduced the program and courses to be made available in VIET. Dr P R Swarup, DG, CIDC, in his very informative and inspiring lecture, called engineering and management students to become expert in some areas in addition to their curriculum. Dr Swarup also elaborated the scope of employment in the field of engineering areas. Dr B B Singh, Director, ITM, Maharajganj, Dr Amar Singh, Director, BIT, Gorakhpur, Prof Alakh Rai, Sh Y P Singh, Principal, MP Polytechnic, Gorakhpur, Sh Janardan, PNB expressed their views on the program and blessed students for their bright future. Sh P K Mishra, Jt Director, CIDC extended thanks to participants, students, organisers on behalf of CIDC and VIET.

CIDC – Activities MoC Signing with Career Point University, Kotah

Independent Quality Assurance Consultancy & Placement Activities Training:

CIDC-Oil India Limited, Duliajan, Assam for Skill Training & Placement of young people from OIL’s operational areas under CSR scheme. CIDC will train total number of 10000 candidates during next five year and in the first phase during this year 2013-14, 500 candidates to be trained.

The selection of candidates at Dibrugarh & Tinsukia under process and around 2600 candidates have been scrutinized. The training has started in four centres VKP Faridabad (Haryana) Sidhauli, Ghaziabad, and Gorakhpur (U.P.) 250 candidates have been enrolled, 100 candidates who have completed their one month training at our centre Faridabad & Ghaziabad are being provided opportunity for on job training at various sites including Sobha developers during the OJT they will be given stipend for the duration of training, out of 500 candidates the remaining candidates around 250 will be registered by 3rd week of march, 2014.

Exclusive coverage and pictures of 18th Annual CIDC day & 6th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2014 Ceremony shall be published in our Forthcoming April 2014 Issue.

TCIL:

CIDC has got letter of award from Telecommunications Consultants India

Ltd (TCIL) (A Govt. of India Enterprise) towards third party quality

monitoring services for Construction of Training Centre and Residential

Hostel at ITI Raebareli (U.P). The work has been started on 03rd December,

2013, and the 1st visit attended by Shri P K Mishra, Joint Director, CIDC.

CWGV: Dated 24-02-2014

CIDC has got letter of award from Commonwealth Games Village Allottes Welfare Association, New Delhi. Towards technical audit at CWGV. The work has been started the on 01st March, 2014 and the 1st visit attended by Mr. Devilal, Project Officer (Q/C) CIDC.

New IQAC Initiatives:

New proposal of Third Party Quality Assessment Services / Third Party Quality Assessment & Supervision/ Project Management Consultancy for Chief Ministers special package for Construction Road in Barak Valley Silchar, have been submitted on 06th of December 2013, to Shri M.C. Boro, Commissioner & Special. Secretary, PWD Assam, MoU between CIDC & PWD Assam under process will be signed soon. Placement Initiatives

Organized placement meet at VKP Faridabad centre on 14th February, 2014 The following companies have been participated in the placement meet:

1. A & A Infrastructure Pvt Limited has selected 2 electricians from VKP of PFC batch.

2. C&C Constructions Limited (Appeared -13 candidates) result awaited

3. RDS Projects Limited (Appeared -17 candidates) result awaited

31 candidates have been placed of electrical trade at Sobha Developer Bangalore from Odisha centre.

Organized placement meet at VKP Faridabad centre on 24th February, 2014 Sobha Developers Ltd have participated in the placement meet to select as per their requirement of 50 Plumbers & 30 Electricians. 93 candidates were selected as Plumbers & Electricians at VKP Faridabad.

CIDC – Activities Department of Industries Govt. of Jharkhand, Ranchi- MoU signed on 13th July, 2013:

For Skill development of human resources and placement of youth in the construction sector, for target of training 5000 youth per year and placing 75% of them during the year 2013-14.

As on date 142 candidates have been enrolled at our Daltonganj training centre, and 36 candidates have been placed in Sobha Developer, Bangalore,

As on date 95 candidates have been enrolled at our Ranchi training centre, and 35 candidates have been placed in Sobha Developer at Bangalore.

The Jharkhand Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board Government of Jharkhand- MoU signed on 03rd February, 2014.

For Skill development of human resources and placement of youth in the construction sector, CIDC will train a total number of 1000 trainees per year initially for the year 2013-14 the stipulated target will be 200 trainees.

As on date 36 candidates have been registered for on job training at Kashi Developers Ltd project site at Ranchi and the on job training started on 03-03.2014.

And 20 candidates have been registered for on job training at Rameshwaram Properties Ltd project site at Ranchi and the on job training started on 01-03-2014
