OCTOBER

2012-2013As a Christian, I am grateful for a school

like Slavic Christian Academy. Students in this school are receiving an excellent, com-plete education of the mind, soul, body, and spirit. The learning process is a preparation ground for them, maturing them, preparing them, and refining to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. One lesson the students must learn is that God is just. The foun-dation of “His throne is righteousness and justice...” (Ps. 89:14).

In prayer for SCA families and students, ~Mrs. Solodyankin

2012-2013 English & Math Grades 3 – 8

Hello dear parents and students! What an exciting start to the school year! I have enjoyed getting in contact with so many of you, and can’t wait for the rest of the year! I just wanted to remind you all of a couple things that will make this program easier for us all to navigate. Please check all your work before you sub-mit it: remember, this also includes proper capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.

If any issues arise, please feel free to send me a message! I check them often and will reply as soon as possible.

Thank you all so much!Ms. Kipko Electives & Bible

Grades 7 – 12Hello again!Since our culture made October the “spooky month,” we’ve decided to recast it as the “Fear of the Lord” month. If you’re curious, try to find as many verses as you can on the topic of “fearing God.” You’ll find it is one of the core commands of the bible and is often mentioned in the Bible! It is vital in our Christian walk.

On an academic note, most of the Bible students are doing excellent! My only word of encouragement is to “Keep on Keeping On!”

God Bless!-Mr. Val

Math - Grades 9 – 12Hello Students!A month has passed already and the school year is well underway. I want to remind each of my students to commu-nicate with your teachers. If you have any questions, or think something might be off, write to your teachers. I don’t know about other teachers, but I am not perfect: thus, I make mis-takes. Please feel free to let us know if we miss something! We try our best to help you. In closing, remember that we work for the glory of God, and that He doesn’t look at your grades, but instead observes your hearts.

God bless!Mr. Alex

History - Grades 7 – 12Hello everyone!Winter is certainly drawing closer here in Washington! I’ve read some wonderful essays recently, and I appreciate the hardwork and dedication each of my students have exampled this quarter. I encourage all students to contact me if they need help on a lesson, as oftentimes a simple rephrasing can make all the difference.

I’m so glad to have the opportunity to be teaching each of you history this quarter, and please remember that, if you ex-perience a technical difficulty on a test or quiz, you may write me and I will work to resolve the issue.

Best,-Mr. Miller

Science - Grades 7 -12Dear Fellow Scientists,I would like to applaud the dedication I have seen in my students this quarter, as I see that most of you are work-ing diligently to keep up with the scheduled unit due dates. Well done!

Please keep in mind that the greater portion of science questions ask you to rely on your analysis of certain con-cepts, and to interpret these in your own words. Please be sure that you are fully understanding the concepts prior to answering short answer and essay questions. I am here to help you if need a particular question or concept to be clarified.

Keep up the great work!-Miss Litoshyk

Dear Online Students,

The time has come to create SCA student ID cards. Having a school ID is beneficial for the following reasons:

- to obtain student discounts at theaters and other public attractions

- to use as proof of identity - to have a tangible immediate proof of SCA enrollment

Online students are not required to have an ID but are highly recommended to do so. Please go to the following link to
