EUROPAN 102010

Urban planning

The idea was to combine different life-styles without interference and above all ensuring the adapta-tion to the advantageous location of the site, close to the city but surrounded by countryside. In the end a permeable frame, organized in stripes and generating two different kinds of streets, directs the views and the path to the river and a big park that rounds up the proposal.

Urban planning

Public competition: Remodeling AZCA, organized by the Asprima foundation.

AZCA, Madrid’s most important business area since it was buildt in the 70’s, has turned into a grey area, where communication is complicated and where there is a lack of public and pleasant nice spaces. The competition encourage participants to develop a proposal to redefine the area and to rethink about business areas in cities.

ART PRODUCTION CENTRE

2008 Architecture and urban design

Final project developed for the Mas-ter in Architecture

The old Carlsberg Brevery is not been used anymore. The whole area, located in a privileged area in Copenhaguen needs now to be redesigned and reintegrated in the city. A treatment of its perimeter allows a gradual intervention in the area maintaining some of the his-torical buildings and introducing some new colonization elements based on the strata idea.

At one point of this perimeter, a new facility is introduced. The Art production center works as a School of Arts and a Museum. With four levels it is organized in stratas: the basement or exhibition area, the ground floor, covered square and access to the different school areas of work, the work-shops area and finally the offices and cafeteria on the top of the building.

A building with many significant elements was not easy to buildt. The huge metalic structure, com-posed by trusses that save a height of more than 10 meters , concrete walls, the wooden beams , the glass wall and the green roof on to p of it made of the site management a big effort.
