• Table for HPL resistivity measurement re-commissioned in Pavia
• About 200 HPL foils produced and tested last week (yield of 70%) for Phoenix
• The full chain “production-test-cut-surface cleaning” resumed. CMS was involved in the work (Crotty).
• Contacts with GT re-established for the HPL surface cleaning and the gap production. Quotations are available.
• Baseline for gap production is Kodel. However the option of a share between Kodel and GT is being considered.

• Design studies for the new station 2 and its integration in CMS well advanced
• Components to be procured in Belgium and China
• Milestone to have an integrated mechanical prototype by the end of the year

• KODEL has proved in the past to be capable of producing large amount of high quality gas gaps
• The presence of a group of motivated physicist to follow up the production and QC is an asset for the collaboration
• The interest of Phenix for the KODEL facility put some pressure on the group and it imply some duplication of efforts and infrastructures. This might results in an increase of the cost and in a more complicated schedule

RPC RPC Gap production
• GT had a major role in the barrel RPC system production. Production tools are fully operation and are ready to be re-activated
• Logistics is easier in term of transport. Cost is lower ( 10%)
• The manpower load for the QC would be on CERN/European responsibily

Front-end• VLSI available (some need to be packed)
• Design of the auxiliary OR/AND board ready (Flavio). Five prototypes ordered for testing
• Other FEB test facilities available in Bari
• Baseline for FEB production at Matrix (Italy). Other options are being considered (India, Pakistan) that however require additional investigation and work.

Final remarksFinal remarks
The new groups (Belgium, India) already very active:
• Belgium is contributing significantly to the detector commissioning
• India ha already built and tested 10 RE2 chambers now at CERN (to be considered as spares for the present detector and future RE4)
• CERN infrastructure (ISR) operational

• Cash flow from funding agencies may be a problem. Need to work out a scheme
• Schedule is very (very) optimistic
• Some construction activities could interfere with detector running at CERN
• Secure more contributions ( INFN?)
