Our plan
• We thought we’d– get together a few people interested in
hacking the code– talk a little about future development
• And then spend the rest of the time hacking
The reality...
New plan
• We taught attendees how to use the product
• Discussed future plans• Ended with self-study session– some tried playing with Ontopia components
like TMRAP or Ontopoly– others went into
the code
Outcome
• We were overwhelmed by the interest in the software
• Much better impression of user experience– problems, desired features, ...
• Also much better idea of how to guide the further path of the project
• Helped potential contributors see what they could do for the project
• Also think users encouraged each other
