About Optus ZedConnect

■ ZedConnect offers data and/or analogue voice via a dedicated connection designed

for high-speed business quality data access.

■ ZedConnect 4 offers 4 x voice lines plus asymmetrical data via an Ethernet connection.

■ ZedConnect 8 offers 8 x voice lines plus symmetrical data speeds 64k to 1408k or

asymmetrical data via an Ethernet connection.

■ The ZedConnect voice service is connected through your voice switch. Optus

Wholesale deploys an IAD at the end user’s site, which can then be connected to the end

user’s CPE.

Quality

ZedConnect offers quality similar to fibre optic transmission over copper lines and its

high quality is reflected in a network availability target of 99.9%.

All quality guarantees are backed by Service Level Agreements which detail Optus

Wholesale’s delivery and performance standards. The scheme offers service guarantees

to assure the end user of the highest performance and reliability.

Security

ZedConnect is provided over dedicated “last mile” copper lines ensuring data is

protected on its path to and from the end user.

• An ATM Circuit Emulation Service (CES) is provided to extend the V5.2 interface to the Retail Carrier via the ATM STM-1 link.

• CES adaptive timing will be enabled to provide timing transparency for syncronisation between the RC’sV5.2 switch and XYZed VoDSL Gateway.

ZedConnect can be provided inclusive of Optus Switched Voice and Internet.
