I’d like to give you a warm welcome to Birmingham City University. I am immensely proud to be the Chancellor of this vibrant and diverse institution.
The best way to find out what’s happening at this University and across the city is to come and see us for yourself, which is why our open days are such great events. You can see our facilities for yourself, get the inside track from current students and ask our staff about any queries you may have.
Have a fantastic day and I hope we’ll be welcoming you as a student soon.
Sir Lenny Henry, Chancellor, Birmingham City University
WELCOME

4 PLACES TO GET THE BEST INSTAGRAM SHOT
NO MATTER WHICH CAMPUS YOU’RE VISITING, BCU IS FULL OF PERFECT INSTAGRAM LOCATIONS JUST WAITING TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED. WE'VE PICKED OUR FOUR FAVOURITES FOR YOU.
THE CURZON AND PARKSIDE BUILDINGSWHAT IS IT?
Our Curzon Building is home to our Business, Law, Social Sciences, English and NTI courses, first opening its doors in 2015. In March this year its 100,000 square foot extension Curzon B was opened. The Parkside Building first welcomed students in 2013, and houses Arts, Design and Media.
BEST PLACE TO TAKE THE PHOTO
Eastside Park gives the best view, allowing you to capture the park and both buildings.
THE BIRMINGHAM SKYLINEWHAT IS IT?
Birmingham features several instantly recognisable buildings, including the Bullring, the Cube and the Library of Birmingham. You can see them on the horizon from our City Centre Campus.
BEST PLACE TO TAKE THE PHOTO
The steps in between Jennens Court and the Woodman pub provide a great location to get the city centre skyline featuring the famous Selfridges building. Go high enough up the steps and you’ll see St Martin’s church poking out the top.
Look out for our photo points around campus where you can take your own Insta-ready picture of the day.
UNIVERSITY LOCKS CANAL WHAT IS IT?
The Digbeth Branch Canal flows past the front of our University Locks halls of residence, separating the accommodation from The Curzon Building. With the city being well known for its canals it’s great that we have one at the heart of our campus.
BEST PLACE TO TAKE THE PHOTO
The guardrail opposite the University Locks entrance provides the best view, giving you a great angle of the bridge and greenery overhanging the canal.
BRAND NEW CITY SOUTH BUILDING WHAT IS IT?
The brand new £41 million extension at our City South Campus opened for students this spring. It houses state-of-the-art facilities for our Health, Education and Life Sciences students.
BEST PLACE TO TAKE THE PHOTO
You can be one of the first to grab a great picture of the new building from the road entrance off the Westbourne Road.
