How to get the best of these two worlds?
1 Evaluate which proprietary software you are currently using
2 Identify Open-source alternatives and thoroughly test them(Larger is the company and wider supported platforms you should choose)
3 Decide on the best usage mode: SaaS or DIY
4 Make sure professional services (like Tech support) are available
5 Update regularly, especially if a «Security release» is announced
6 Contribute, be part of the community - Share your success story!
