OC – Se centra en ‘cola larga’ ejem. Muchos interpretes para pocos fans
Principal diferencia entre el modelo tradicional y OC = distribucion
Non-Commercial – is it a big difference?
• Casi todos los productos OS permiten uso comercial; casi todos los productos OC limitan el uso comercial
• Ambos en todo caso permiten ‘libertad’ para conservar sus consumidores– para OS esto es sobre negocio; para OC esto es sobre individuos
• Redhat, Sun, Novell etc tienen modelos ‘empresariales’ de valor agregado– cobran mas por nivel de apoyo profesional, garantia, etc.
• Comercial para OC = ‘producto valor agregado’
• Para OC, hay un menor incentivo para pagar por servicios de mantenimiento, calidad, etc. a cambio se cobra por mas derechos.
