INTRODUCTION

Today we are challenged not just to take part inthe difficult situation in our country but

undoubtedly we are to take the lead andmake a difference for a better tomorrow. And as children of God and as Citizens of thiscountry we are bound to be of help to our

society in the light of the Gospel especially intaking part in politics. As Aristotle would say the highest activity of humans mind is to

engage in politics.

We are challenged by our CatholicBishops of our country to entrusteverything in the Sacred heart of

Jesus through the Immaculateheart of Mary with their Pastoral

Exhortation, as they say

From the wounded Heart of Jesus flowedthe grace of healing and reconciliation.

Let this grace flow through us, the

community of Christs disciples, intothe blood stream of our nation. Let itfind the concrete expression in serious

advocacies for peace and dialogue,healing and reconciliation amidstconflict-situations in all possible

circumstances in life.

Let us consciously lay the moral foundations inwhich we can build a more stable. More mature

Philippine society. Let this foundation be not justchange of leaders or a change of social andpolitical structures, but above all, a radicalchange of heart, commending ourselves to Jesus

and his Blessed Mother as we entreat them to make our hearts so like to (theirs) thatwe may holy be!
