STEVE LAMBERT -King Arthur Even though Steve appears forthe first time ON our stage, you will remember his directorialabilities for his award-winning production of '92-'93's season"THE KING & I". He seems to have an affinity for "kings"! Hereceived his Theatre Arts Degree from the University of SantaClara, but worked for five years in New York appearing innumerous films and television productions. His most enjoyablefilm-making experience he says was working with Jim Hensen

and the Muppets on "The Muppets Take Manhattan". Steve currently is RegionalMerchandise Manager for The Men's Wearhouse. Meet him in the lobby after theshow and he'll sell you a suit!

MARY MESSANO - Guenevere Another newcomer to WVLOA,Mary has appeared in several local productions, including"Camelot" & "Anything Goes" with SDG; "The Pirates ofPenzance", "Godspell", "Man of La Mancha", & "Singin' In TheRain" with SCP; & "The Fantasticks", "The Tempest" & "OurTown" with St. Mary's College. She received her BA in LiberalArts from St. Mary's College and has formal training in acting,voice and dance. She works at XUDatacomp in Redwood Cityand credits her director & fellow performer's talents, professionalism & vision for theinspiration and wonderful time she's having performing in this production. We'reglad you're enjoying those "Simple Joys of Maidenhood"!

ROBIN MELNICK - Lancelot Robin is another new talent thatappears with us for the first time. A member of a very musicalfamily, he earned his BA in Computer Science from UC-Berkeley, performed in the Cal Marching Band, their Barbershopquartet singing, & other variety shows. Though he playstrombone and tuba, he got bit by the theater bug working withThe Lamplighters in SF, then went on to appear as Rapunzel'sPrince in "Into The Woods", Antipholus in "Boys From Syracuse"

& working with SJCLO in "Mame" & "Fiddler On The Roof". A Marketing Managerby day for 3Com Corporation, Robin credits his mother, Marcia Harris, for instillingin him the love of music and his teacher, Annelle Delfs, for helping to give it voice.Welcome to "Camelot", Robin, and we hope you return for other productions in thenear future.

TED HATRAK - Pellinore Ted makes his WVLO debut in thisproduction, but he is a veteran of many musicals, dramas &comedies. He started in radio with Ernie Kovacs reading thefunny papers on the air in Trenton, NJ, & earned his MA atColumbia University. His long list of impressive credits in the BayArea includes performances with Foothill College, SJCVLO, PaloAlto Players, TheatreWorks, G&S, SCU, LACT, SDG, and manyothers. He has studied voice and dance, appeared in

. commercials and videos. He is self-employed in graphic design and layout andlooks forward to staying involved in any and all showbiz activities. We're delightedto showcase Ted's versatility and theatrical experience.

JOHN HUFF - MerlynThis will be John's seventh show withWVLO, others include "King & I', "Merry Widow", "Kiss MeKate", "Girl Crazy", "Kismet", & "Fiddler On The Roof". Heactually started 30 years ago at the Alley Theatre in Houston,Texas, and did the dinner theater circuit in Houston & Dallas.And he works his magic off the stage on his ranch in San Martinwith his horses, pigs, goats, chickens, turkey, cat and Englishbulldog. What a menagerie!

LINDA HINTON - Morgan LeFey & Nimue Linda made her r--==-----,WVLO debut last season as Tuptim in "The King & I" so wewelcome her back in this dual role. She received her BA fromthe University of Minnesota, majoring in microbiology with aminor in voice performance. In the Bay Area for only the past 10years, she has performed with TheaterWorks, SJ State OperaTheatre Workshop, Palo Alto Players, Cal State Hayward andthe Magdelena Group in Berkeley. She has studied with IreneDalis in the Opera Theatre Workshop, voice with Catherine Petrek and dance at theMenlo Park Academy of Dance. She is a Research Associate at Mercator Genetics,Inc.

JON JENSEN - Mordred Another performer making his firstappearance on our stage, Jon was educated locally at BuchserHigh School, West Valley College and earned his BS inBusiness .Marketing from CSU-Long Beach. He has performedwith SJCLO in "Sweeney Todd", "Evita", "Chess" & "Phantom OfThe Opera". His future goal is to enjoy life and do more theater.We understand he is engaged and will be married next Februaryso he'll start working on those goals right away. If he learns L.-_~IIUII<L.._-'

'How To Handle A Woman', he may be able to persuade hislovely wife to let him share his talents with us again soon!

DON MASUDA - Sir Dinadan Don returns to us after his ERMAaward-winning performance as the King in last season's "TheKing & I". A native of Honolulu, he considers himself aCalifornian now for he's been here since he was a child. Donhas taught second & third grades in San Mateo for over 25years and is the single parent of 13 year old twin boys. Histheatrical credits include productions with SJCLO,TheatreWorks, Foothill College, & SDG. Among his favorite

roles are the King in "King & I" (naturally), Ito in "Mame", and his various roles in"Pacific Overtures". We are delighted to have him back on our stage, this time as aknight to a king.

JOHN PRIGEON - Sir Lionel A native of Omaha, Neb., Johnalso makes his debut with WVLO. He has appeared inGaslighter & G&S productions. He says he is the tallestmember of his family. He earned a Masters Degree inElectrical Engineering and is employed as an ApplicationEngineer with Hewlett Packard. His future goal is to play tenorleads with G&S, but he wants someone to explain those peskytenor jokes! He couldn't mean the ones about temperamentaltenors!

ROBERT SUMMERS - Sir Sagramore A familiar face to ouraudiences, this marks Robert's sixth production, his mostrecent as the Captain in "The King & I"; others were roles in"South Pacific", "Guys & Dolls", "Music Man", & "Man of LaMancha". He has also appeared with SJCLO and SDG. Aresident of California for 10 years, Robert earned his BS inComputer Science at the University of Illinois before comingwest. Robert is a Staff Programmer at IBM (at least he was the

last time we checked) and is a newlywed who exchanged vows with his lovely brideright here on this stage last May. Welcome back Robert to the world of live theater!

CHRISTINE ISACCO - She is a critical care staff .-------:::::::--------,nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and hasperformed in musical theater in both high schooland college. This is her first show since she was17, but we won't say how long that's been!

BRYAN BECKSTRAND - He has worked on ourproductions in the past, but mostly on our stagecrews; however, Bryan has performed on stage in numerous productions with SCP,G&S, & SCPo He enjoys body building & other physical activities. He is currentlyemployed at Electronic Arts in San Mateo, but is seriously considering applying for ajob with the National Park Service.

LORRAINE FLINT-ROTHER - She got bit by the 'theater bug' doing "Annie" withdaughter, Amanda, and has been performing whenever possible. She is apsychiatric nurse specialist for the Dept. of Veteran Affairs, married to Tim and alsohas a son, Scott.

MARCIA STERNIN - This marks her sixthproduction, with "Anything Goes", "South Pacific","Music Man", "Oklahoma" & "Merry Widow". She isa kindergarten teacher at St. Raymond Schooland just recently became a grandma.Congratulations, Marcia!

CHRIS SOUZA - His credits include SCP's "Plain& Fancy", SDG's "Mame" & SVCT's "Annie", "The Fantasticks" & "Something'sAfoot". A loan processor at Great Western Bank, Chris wants to continue performingin theater and film. He has already performed in film projects for NBC, CBS &Buena Vista Films. He's single and living with his parents & crying for somebeautiful young lady to rescue him!

GERI SCHNEIDER - Although Geri has worked on stage crew for five of our shows,she did appear in "Mystery of Edwin Drood" and we think it will be hard getting herbackstage again. She holds a BA in Music, an MS in Computer Science, isemployed at Rational Software Corporation, & lives in SJ with Patches & Joker, heradorable cats.

CONNIE LOPEZ - This will be Connie's fourthproduction on our stage, having appearedpreviously in "Kismet", "Merry Widow" and "King &I". She is a hair stylist who aspires to one dayplaya small character role. Her home town isSan Martin so maybe she can tell us - "What DoThe Simple Folk Do?"

MATTHEW HARVEY - Regular audience members will remember Matthew from hisdelightful portrayal of Harry in last season's "My Fair Lady" & his ERMA award-winning performance of the young prince in "King & I". This marks his 10thproduction with WVLO and we're happy to have him return to "Camelot".

PATRICIA MARTIN - Another newcomer to our stage, Pat is a talented soloist and afaculty member of the San Francisco Girls Chorus, where she is completing her 11thyear of service, currently as Director of Level II, Master Teacher & Vocal Coach. Hasappeared in "The Sound of Music" & "South Pacific". If a leader is required in thegroup, Pat is the first to say, "C'est Moi"!

JOSEPH WEIMER - A returnee to our stage from"Kismet" & "The Merry Widow", Joseph is a retiredCounty employee and former independentappraiser. He's been married 54 years to Jane,has two children and five grandchildren. He just'loves' theater!

DAVID LAMBERT - This will be David's secondproduction for WVLO, he portrayed one of the royal children in "King & I". He alsoappeared in 'Three Princesses" for the Willow Glen Children's Theater. He wants toget a degree in theater & quantum mechanics. He's learning acting first hand fromhis dad, King Arthur .•f)

MICHAEL MacLAREN - A talented and energetic young man, Michael is anothernewcomer to our stage, but has already performed in "Oklahoma" & "AnythingGoes" for SDG, "The Wizard of Oz", "Music Man", "The Wiz", "Joseph & TheAmazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", & "The Secret Garden" with various MV theatricalgroups as well as several productions with Rainbow Theatre.

MELISSA BRANDENBURG - A rare California .-------,,------=:----------,native, Melissa also makes her debut with WVLO.An endocrinology nurse in Palo Alto, she hasperformed in several musicals, including "AnythingGoes", "Pajama Game" & "Oklahoma". She spentfour years in the Air Force in Germany & her goal isto earn a music degree & playa leading lady before.she's old enough to do "Driving Miss Daisy"!! if

RODREX THOMAS - Not only is this is first appearance with us, it is his first J.performance in a production. He has worked stage crew for SDG's "Anything Goes"& "Guys & Dolls", but says he enjoys being on the stage. He works with theOutreach Youth Organization and as an employee of NASA-Ames, he works with Jr.High students through the NASA Rocket Club. He attends De Anza & his hobbiesare wind surfing and the marshall arts. Welcome, Rod!

MICHAEL MacKENZIE - An electronic technician at Metrom Services, Michael joinsus for the first time on our stage. His first theater experience was SDG's "Guys &Dolls" when he worked on the crew. His film credits include a Japanese Sci-FiMovie and the role of a villain in a silent movie while in college. His future goal is tohave fun both on stage & off. Sounds like he's ready for the "Seven Deadly Virtues"!

WHO'S WHO ON OUR STAFF

CATHERINE PETREK - Director This will be Catherine's seconddirectorial position for WVLO, for she also directed 'The MerryWidow" in our '91-'92 season and will be remembered for herERMA award-winning performance as Anna in "King & I" as wellas for her role of Lalume in "Kismet". A native of St. Helena, shestarted her singing career in high school and her directorialexperience in college. She has performed leading roles withOpera San Jose, West Bay Opera, G&S, & most recently playedThea in "Fiorello" and Mrs. Anderson in "A Little Night Music" for Foothill College.Her experience also includes other facets of theater, such as costume design & con-struction (she made Eliza Doolittle's ball gown for "My Fair Lady"), stage crew,properties designer and stage manager, as well as directing. She is a vocal teacherand her husband, John, is an airline pilot. We are always delighted to have thistalented and knowledgeable lady on our staff.

MIKE SLOAN - Music Director We feel so fortunate to welcomeMike to our staff after enjoying his talents in our orchestras forso many productions. A real veteran of the 'Big Band' era, heplayed with the orchestras of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey,Charlie Lyle, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Mason Morgan &currently is director and leader of The Mike Sloan Big Band. Healso toured with the Broadway productions of "Man of LaMancha", "1776", & "The Music Man". He even played Off

Broadway in "Hair". The list of celebrities for which he played as back-up for theirperformances include Elvis Presley, Mel Torme, Pat Boone, Bette Midler, PeteFountain, & Doc Sevrensen, just to mention a few. Mike was the recipient of theOrchestra Vest for his outstanding contribution to WVLO's produc tion of "Singin' InThe Rain". Last summer he was Musical Director for "Peter Pan", Gilroy TheaterUnder The Stars. He says he wants to be cowboy when he grows up, but for rightnow, we're mighty glad he's swingin' a baton instead of a rope!

NANCY KWONG - Choreographer Always a welcome additionto our staff, Nancy returns to us after choreographing "I Do! IDo!", "King & I", "Nunsense", "Merry Widow" as well as havingperformed in our productions of "Good News", "Kiss Me, Kate","Dames At Sea", & "Rodgers & Hart". Her impressive list ofchoreographic credits also includes productions for GaslighterTheater in Campbell, SCP, TheatreWorks, SDG, & Mitty HighSchool. Nancy earned her BA from CSU-Chico and her.Mastersin Speech Pathology from SJSU. This busy young lady also finds time to volunteerfor the Timpany Center and is a member of Quota Club International of Sunnyvale,working for the speech & hearing impaired. She was married in this theater inMarch, 1993, changing her name from Hand to Kwong. If her maiden name soundsfamiliar, it's only because she's the daughter of proud parents, Marge & Ed Hand,who might be just a little familiar to regular audience members of this Association.We are extremely pleased that she found time to choreograph this show.
