General instructionsThe machines described in this hanbook have a ironing capacity of 190, 250, 320 cm wide depending on the type. They are available with steam, electric, gas or thermal fluide heating.
They carry out five different fonctions with a single operator; the space required is very similar to the standard ironer’s.
The ironing speed is adjustable as a function of the density (weight/m2) and humidity of the washing.
The temperature of the ironing cylinder can also be adjusted by a thermostat (except for steam; in this case, the temperature depends on the steam pressure).
The ironing parameters that you have selected are permanently checked by a microprocessor.
These parameters are displayed in real time on a tactile screen in front of the operator.
The feeding of the linen is completely automatized and includes smoothing; a single operator is required; the folding of the items is calculated for each item fed.
Several piles of linen can be stored in the stacker with centering and numbering of the folded items.
The machine can be used like a standard ironer with or without the automatic feeding.

PRACTICES TO AVOID : - Sheets folded double. - Draw-sheets or any other double-layer sheet or sheet pulled into the ma-chine side by side. - Fitted-sheet : May cause problem to smooth out; Measurements altered. - Comforter cases with flap - Linen ≤ 80 gr /m² : gravitational pull difficult at lengthwise folding - Linen ≥ 200 gr/m². - Linen < 0,90m x 1,10m. PRACTICES NOT ADVISABLE : - Worn polycotton sheets (cotton worn away) : get out of shape when smoothed out, uneven finish look when folded, high static electricity. - Large cotton or flax-made sheets > 200 gr/m² (layers > 80 mm after the 3rd cross fold). - Linen other than flatwork : (butcher's apron : watch that the cords do not slide between the feeding belts). - Sheets of 1m80 x 2m80 processed on type 25 - 2m50 - (gas heating : problem of heating regulation with gas; gas burners cannot be modulated ). CAUTIONS : - Prepare the large sheets before feeding : ironing and folding defects, risks of jamming at cross folding. - Avoid the torn, worn or holed sheets : that may hook and alter the measurements hampering proper lengthwise folding (back clearing). - Comply with the mini-maxi sizes. - Avoid when running, too low or bad adjusted temperatures as consequence of : - A too high ironing speed with high moisture content in sheets : bad sliding on metallic parts. - A partial use of the ironing length of the cylinder creating overheating : (be careful especially, to the risk for the polycotton sheets to loose their shape, generally stabilized at 200 °C).

Additional instructions to optimise a dryer-ironerWhen ironing small sheets or small washing, pass abreast the washing of the heating cylinder to provide correct regulation of the cylinder temperature.
As a general rule, the whole of the cylinder should be used (1). Either iron the linen from the front (2) or iron alternately (3), which makes maximum use of the heat units available over the surface of the cylinder. It also overcomes difficulties arising from random control values caused by partial use of the cylinder.

Safety devices
AccessibilityAll of the casings can be dismantled by means of a specially designed tool.
Emergency stopAn "emergency stop" button is provided on the left side and on the stacker.
Restarting the machineAfter any stoppage of the machine, either due to power failure, emergency stop, action on the feed safety device, the machine can only be restarted after having pressed "Valid" key.
Feed safety deviceThe space between the feed safety flap and the drive bands is too small for you to enter your fingers. The machine stops automatically as soon as the flap is pushed in.
Power supply failureIf there is a mains power supply failure, use the handle to remove any washing engaged in the machine. If the temperature is too high, use the handle to feed some wet washing and protect the ironing bands.
Protection of motorsThe motors have overload protection : • by thermomagnetic circuit breakers and • by the electrical selector (for movement).
Heating safety deviceThe control panel applies an initial safety level at the time the machine starts up.If the temperature is not reached after a given time, the heating command is desactivated. The operation of the heating function is linked to the rotation of the cylinder. If the cylinder should stop rotating for any reason, the machine stops heating.A safety thermostat, which is independent of all electronic systems, limits the heating tempera-ture of the ironing cylinder in all circumstances, exept in the case of a steam heating machine. There is a thermical fuse for the overheating safety, in the centre of the machines equiped with a Dubixium cylinder. If it breaks, the heating stops. Contact your dealer to check the origin of the failure by a qualified technician.
Gas heatingThe gas burner is ignited and the flame is controlled by an electronic box that provides integral safety, for example if the flue draft is poor or if the gas supply is cut off.A message on the tactile screen shows that the system has been put in a safe condition.A pressure switch connected to the combustion products outlet turns off the machine’s heating function in case of extraction problems.

Operating incidentsIn order to limit the risk of failure in the electronic controls of the programming unit of the ma-chine, the machine should be earthed. Should interferences happen, the first thing to be chec-ked is the earthing of the machine.
The programming unit permanently checks the machine, regarding both safety and working aspects. To make the fault finding easier, the display window indicates in clear text the origin of the failure, or the reason why the particular function cannot be used. The table below gives for each problem detected the message of the machine and the solutions to be brought.

which same characteristics as that originally used (grease CELTIA G2).
Every three year (6000 h)30 Clean the ceramic plates with suction device.31 Change the high temperature joints made of mineral wool.32 Check the tightness of the venturis.
Motors• The fan motor is life lubricated.• The movement reduction gear is life lubricated.
Bearings• The bearings must be grease once a year, you may grease them using a grease
which same characteristics as that originally used (grease CELTIA G2).• Grease periodically the two bearings on the steam cylinder (please see «Preventive
maintenance») using a grease which is resistant to high temperatures.
Cylinder• The cylinder must be maintained very carefully so that ironing is easy and good quality.• Detergent or scale deposits must be removed as soon as they reduce ironing quality (jamming, creases on the washing, etc.).
Note:
The drier-ironing machine textile components must be considered as wearing parts. The lifetime of these parts (ironing strips, feeding strips, clamping belts, transfer belts, etc.) is highly dependent on the usage conditions and maintenance frequencies. Consequently, their replacement may not be claimed under any guarantee.

Replacing ironing bands• Remove the rear casing to obtain easy access to the ironing bands.
• Remove staples from the two ends of the bands to be replaced and staple the end of the old band with the end of the new band.
• Rotate the cylinder using the handle.
• Unstaple the ends of the old and the new band, and staple the two ends of the new band together.
• Do the same for the other bands.
• Replace the rear casing.
CAUTIONThe tension of the ironing bands was adjusted in the factory with the machine hot.Never retension the bands.Their tension must be as low as possible (just enough to drive them) since excessive tension will cause fast wear of these bands.Remember these comments if you need to make an adjustment or a replacement.
