• Pumpsshouldoperateonadesignated,110/120voltcircuitratedat15Amps(minimum).
• PumpmustbeprotectedbyaGroundFaultCircuitInterrupter(GFCI).
• Pumpmustbepluggedintoastandard,properlygrounded,threeprongedoutlet.
• Donotcuttheelectricalcable.Ifacablewithcutinsulationorotherdamageissubmergedinwater,thereisdangerofwaterseepingintothepumpmotorandcausingashort.Thismayresultindamagetothepump,electricalshockorfire.Altering the electrical cable in any way will void the warranty.
• Nevermoveorhandlethepumpbypullingontheelectricalcable.Makesuretheelectricalcabledoesnotbecomeexcessivelybentortwisted,doesnotrubagainstastructureinawaythatmightdamageit,anddoesnotcomeincontactwithheatedsurfaces.
Operation• SH-Seriespumpsareforuseinwateronly.Watertemperatureshouldneverexceed95degreesF.
• SH-Seriespumpsmustnotbeusedtopumpsaltwater,sewage,flammableorcorrosiveliquids,greases,oilsorfoodwaste.
• Paycarefulattentiontothewaterlevelwhilethepumpisoperating.Thepumphandlemustbefullysubmersedatalltimesofoperation.The pump must never be allowed to run dry.
• Incaseofexcessivevibration,unusualnoiseorodor,turnoffthepowerimmediatelyandconsultyournearestdealer.
Motor Protection System• Thepumphasabuilt-inmotorprotectionsystem.Thefollowingreasonsmaycausethepumptostopautomaticallyregardlessofwaterlevel.
-Motoroverheating -Excessivecurrent -Open-phaseoperationor -Changeinvoltagepolarity operationunderconstraint
•Repeatingcyclesofstoppingandrestartingwilldamagethewaterpump.Donotcontinueoperationatlowlift,lowwaterlevel,orwhiletheinletiscloggedwithdebris.Notonlywillperformancesuffer,butalsosuchconditionsmaycausenoise,heavyvibration,andpumpfailure.
Maintenance and Inspection• Regularmaintenanceandinspectionsareanecessityforcontinuedefficientfunctioning.Ifanyabnormalconditionsarenoticed,refertothesectiononTroubleshootingandtakecorrectivemeasuresimmediately.
Monthly Inspection•Checkforanydropinperformance.Reducedperformanceisusuallycausedbydebrisblockingthepumpintake.
• Detachthepowercablefromthereceptacleorturnoffthepowersupply(circuitbreaker).
• Disconnectthepumpdischargeandremovethepumpfromthewater.
• Removeanyaccumulateddebrisfromthesurfaceofthepump,inlet andimpeller.
• Donotdisassemblethepumpforanyreason.Disassemblywillvoidthepumpwarranty.Referoperatingandmaintenanceproblemstoaqualifiedtechnician.
Winterizing• Undernocircumstancesshouldthepumpbeleftinfrozenwater.
• Whenthepumpisoutofuseforanextendedperiod,washitanddryitthoroughly,thenstoreitindoors.
Note:Alwaysrunatestoperationbeforeputtingthepumpbackintooperation.Whenthepumpisleftinstalledinwateritshouldberunatregularintervals(aboutonceperweek).
WarrantyAllTidalWavePumpscarryatwo-yearlimitedwarranty.Thislimitedwarrantyisextendedsolelytotheoriginalpurchasercommencingfromthedateoforiginalpurchasereceiptandisvoidifanyofthefollowingapply:
