Thursday, 15 September 2011 Issue 27 Term 3 Week 9 Premier’s Reading Challenge 2011 Well another Premier’s Challenge has come to an end – this year we will be presenting 240 certificates to students, a number which is just over half of our school population, and of course, this is a terrific finish. Of those 240 students, at least 20 will receive a Gold Certificate indicating that they have completed the Challenge 4 times - which in itself is a wonderful effort and shows our students have a great commitment to reading. Our last group of completed entries has come from the following students: Liam C and Logan G of S2V, Cody H and Lily L of S2G, Beatrice N and Elizabeth B of S2C, Baden H, Nicholas W and Tayla M of S2S, Sydney H of S3P, Ben W, Cal W, Cohen S, Kyle P and Angelique H all of S3S. Well done all! Special mention needs to also be made of class S3S – Mr Somerville is quite proud of his class as they have now created something of a record in that they are the very first primary class to have over 90% of the class all complete the Challenge. This is certainly a record to be proud of and gives every primary class something to aim for in 2012. As our Premier’s Reading Challenge co-ordinator, Mrs Morris would just like to say a big thank you to all teachers and indeed all our parents who encouraged students to work towards completing the Challenge for this year. We’ll announce when the official certificates will be presented sometime towards the end of next term. Library Reading Challenge Finishing Soon! With the end of the term rapidly approaching, any students who are reading for the Library Reading Challenge need to have their entry booklets completed and handed into Mrs Morris by the last day of term – which is the official last day of the Library Challenge. Students will receive their certificates and vouchers for the Library Challenge at the beginning of next term.
